This story consists of a love letter from Severus Snape to the late Lily Potter, expressing his deepest and truest feelings to her. This is my first fanfiction, and my entry for the FROM THE HEART Wattpad contest.
There are so many things I wish to tell you, and even though I can't tell you face-to-face, I thought it would only be fair to write them down.
I love you. I don't think I ever told you enough, or told you at all. I love your green eyes. Those emeralds that sparkled whenever you laughed. And your smile. That perfect smile that stole my breath and got my heart beating fast. I will never forget your smile. And even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be able to.
Your kindness and charity always astounded me. You gave a hand to anyone who needed it. And your kindness was what brought us together. You were my friend when no one else was. You were there for me when I needed you, and I want you to know that I will always be there when you need me. Even though you have passed on, and I remain in the world, I will continue to support you.
Harry. He has your eyes. Everyone tells him that. Constantly, and repeatedly. Harry had the same loyalty to his friends that you had, Lily. He reminds me so much of you, that it's almost painful to watch him.
I miss you terribly, Lily. I miss laughing while we laid on the grass and watched the clouds, when we were young. Remember those days, Lily? I cherish them.
I miss what we had, and I miss the days we didn't have to worry about your muggle sister or anybody else. It was just you and me. That's the way I liked it.
Lily, I only hope the place you are right now is worthy of your pure and beautiful soul. You only deserve the best.
I love you Lily. And I honestly wish you wouldn't have met James. You wouldn't have had to suffer. You wouldn't have had to die...But then again, Harry wouldn't have came to be, and the world needs Harry Potter.
Oh Lily I miss you deeply. You were my world, my one and only, my everything! I often wonder if I will love you for the rest of my life, even though you are gone. And I remind myself, I will always love you. Will always love you. My darling, you....Bittersweet memories--that's what I'm taking with me. So goodbye. Please don't cry. We both know I'm not what you need. And I will always love you.
