Chapter 2: Piper

Piper

Piper and Jason ran to the rest of the seven and Calypso who were all staring dumbfounded at the black hole thingy. Except for Annabeth who knew everything.

"What's going on?" Piper asked.

"Hades' and Zeus' magical weapons, you know their helmet and lightning bolt, hit each other and created a black hole." Annabeth said.

"How is that possible?" Piper asked.

"I don't know." Piper knew Annabeth had to force those words out.

Suddenly the black hole got bigger and split into three black holes.

"What's happening?" Leo asked, his arm was around Calypso's waist.

"I don't know." Annabeth said.

Hecate appeared.

"My lady," Hazel said, "what brings you here?"

"I am here to tell you your choices." Hecate said. "The first portal three of you must go in. The second portal three if you must go in too. The third portal is the most dangerous, only two are allowed to go in."

"What if we don't follow your orders?" Frank asked.

"You will die," Hecate said simply, "now I must go." And she disappeared.

"I suppose we better follow her orders." Jason said.

"We should get dressed." Percy said. That's when Piper realized they were all in their pajamas.

She ran back into her cabin and pulled on a plain blue shirt and some old jeans. She packed a small bag of ambrosia and nectar, and ran back outside.

Everyone was already out there.

"Okay," Annabeth said, "here's the plan. Jason, Piper and Hazel will go into the first portal. Leo, Calypso and Frank will go into the second one. And me and Percy will go into the third." No one argued with her.

"Then we're ready." Percy said. "Leo, Calypso and Frank will go into their portal first."

Leo, Calypso and Frank stepped into the second portal and it disappeared with them.

"Now me and Annabeth." Percy said.

He and Annabeth stepped into the third portal and it disappeared.

"I guess we go now." Hazel said.

Piper took Jason's and Hazel's hands and stepped into the first portal.

Piper stumbled and Jason caught her. They were in a large tunnel, there were two exits. Both giving off powerful aura. Piper instantly hated Hecate and portals.

Hazel gasped "that's impossible!"

"What?" Jason asked.

"I've never been here before, but being a daughter of Pluto I can feel these kind of things." Hazel said, "We're in the labyrinth."

"That's impossible," Jason said repeating Hazel's words. "Percy said the labyrinth was destroyed years ago."

"I know," Hazel said "but this is defiantly the labyrinth."

Piper heard footsteps.

"Quick!" She hissed pulling Jason and Hazel through the tunnel on the left.

Piper heard a lot of talking for about half an hour until Jason sneezed. Hera appeared next to him.

"What are you doing here?" Hera asked.

"What?" Jason asked.

"You're supposed to be at Camp Jupiter!" Hera said.

"What?" Jason asked.

"You look older than you did before." Hera mused. "I thought you were planning Krios' defeat!"

"What?" Jason asked.

"I have to go." Hera said, and she disappeared.

"What was that about?" Hazel asked.

"Dunno," Piper said, she felt that the goddess's odd behavior had something to do with the fact they were in the labyrinth.

They had been following the four strange people for about two hours. The four kept on running into trouble. Piper, Jason, Hazel stayed out of sight as they followed them.

Finally the four stopped and laid down, Piper gasped, for a second she thought one of them was Percy. But Percy wasn't so short.

One of the four kept watch so Piper, Jason, and Hazel still had to keep their distance.

Hazel fell asleep first, then Piper.

Piper was in a room, it was lit with torches. The floor was made out of marble, on it were names Piper couldn't read.

Piper stepped forward and the room went pitch black. Not the kind of black she saw when she blacked out, but a pitch black.

"Piper," a familiar voice said.

"Who's there?" Piper asked unsheathing Katoptris.

"Me." The voice said, the torches lit again and Piper saw the face of her mother.

"Hi mom," Piper muttered awkwardly, then she blurt out, "are you going to change my clothes again?"

Aphrodite smiled "you will see."

"So, is there a reason you're talking to me? No offense."

"Yes," Aphrodite said, "I am not allowed to tell you but I can ask you questions."

"What?" Piper asked.

"When did Jason defeat Krios?"

"I don't know exactly when, but probably about a year ago." Piper said.

"And what did Hera say to Jason?"

"She said 'I thought you were planning Krios' defeat.'" Piper said.

"And when did he plan that?"

"A long time ago but-" Piper stopped talking, she suddenly understood why her mother was asking her all these weird questions. "The portal-"

Aphrodite nodded.

"Wow," Piper said.

"Now you must go." Aphrodite said waving her hand.

Piper woke up, Hazel and Jason were already awake.

"I had a dream," Piper said, this didn't surprise them, "I talked to my mother and she told me why we're in the labyrinth."

"Why?" Jason asked.

"Because Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Tyson came here before. We went back in time."
