Simon & Bree - The Flu

Bree's POV

I wake up with a jolt of pain in my upper abdomen. My first instinct is that I'm on my period but thats not possible cause i just had my period last week. Plus, cramps are usually lower than the pain I'm feeling right now.

I roll over on my side and I notice that Simon, my boyfriend, isn't in the bed. He must have gotten up to make breakfast but my thoughts are abruptly interrupted when Simon and JJ come running in the room, JJ screaming at Si and Simon laughing.

"Give me my hat back you bitch!" JJ yelled. I know JJ screams a lot but today it felt like he was screaming ten times louder because my head was pounding.

Simon jumped on the bed with the hat in his hand and JJ followed. I groaned and stuffed my head in the pillow, wishing that they would stop moving and get off the bed.

Simon was laughing as JJ started to pin him down. The movement of the bed made my stomach twirl and head to spin.

Simon got out of JJ's hold but JJ only caught him right after and slammed him on the bed again, in a playful way of course.

I realized that I might puke, right here, right now on Simon's bed if they don't leave. I clutch my stomach with one hand and use my other hand to help me sit up.

"Si-," I start but i get cut off with my stomach lurching and releasing all its contents. It gets all over my lap and the sheets and that isn't even all of it yet.

As I catch my breathe, more comes up and I start to wonder if it's ever gonna stop.

Simon and JJ immediately stop what they're doing and Simon quickly crawls to my side of the bed. He holds my hair back with one hand and rubs soothing, gentle circles on my back with his other hand.

I finish with round two and end up dry heaving, which is unbelievably painful and uncomfortable.

"It's ok. It's ok. You're ok. Just breathe babe," I hear someone say to me in a quiet and soothing voice. Im glad he's not talking loudly though because my head is still aching.

"JJ, can you get Bree water and a bucket in case she needs to throw up more," Simon says and I hear footsteps leading out the room.

I eventually get my breathing evened out which causes the dry heaving to stop and Simon says, "Hey, what's wrong?"

"I don't feel well," I say but my voice sounds dry and scratchy.

"I can tell, babe," Simon says with a little laugh, "I meant what hurts?"

"My head and stomach," I force out.

Simon reaches his hand up to feel my forehead, which is probably on fire, and he says, "Yeah, you definitely have a fever, probably the flu."

I sigh and look at the mess I made on the bed.

"I'll go change the sheets. Lay down, I can work around you. And I'll get you new pants," Simon exclaims and I lay down. I close my eyes and try to ignore the pain in my body but it's just not happening.

"Here's some water," I hear JJ say so I open my eyes and take it. I nod in his direction to say thank you because my voice is too weak right now.

"Sorry for wrestling on the bed when you were sick. I didn't know," JJ says guiltily.

"Yeah me too, love," Simon chimes in.

I smile and nod at them this time to let them know that it's ok. I mean, they didn't know I was about to vomit my insides out and that my head hurt so bad it felt like a hammer was pounding it from both sides. But its all good.

A few minutes later, Simon took the sheets off the bed and had gotten me new pants. I changed into them and they felt so warm, I could stay in them forever.

"Here is some medicine," Simon hands me the pills and helps me get them down by feeding me water.

"Wanna watch some TV?" He says with a smirk.

I laugh and nod my head.

"How does Friends sound?"

I nod again and he gets in the bed right next to me. He pulls me close to him and kisses the top of my head. He turns the TV on and starts running his fingers through my hair. Slow and gentle, he strokes my head. Its honestly the most relaxing thing i've ever experienced.

As I start to doze off, Simon adjusts our positions so he's laying on his back with me on his chest on my stomach. He draws little designs on my back with his fingers.

"Go to sleep, love. You need the rest. I'll wake you up in a few hours so you can eat," He says soothingly.

And that's when I fall asleep.
