Scarlets pov
I hid under the floorboard of my bedroom, my 8 year old self crying silently as I watch my brother get shot in the chest. My mom and dad a few feet away covered in blood. My dress was ripped and torn from running in the woods to the safe house. My mom's eyes were looking at me when she died and they burned into my memory. I looked at the man that killed my family and burn him to into my memory. "Grayson let's go." A 5 five year old boy said skipping into the room. "Ok boss. I'm coming." Grayson said looking at the boy. The boy smiled and skipped of the room happily. A 13 year old walked into the room. "Father, I have killed most of the pack but three ran and got away. I ask for your forgiveness." The boy uttered lowly. "You are forgiven ashshore but make sure it never happens again." Grayson said looking at the boy.
"Father we must go before Colter gets upset. You know how sensitive he can be when it comes to this sort of thing." Ashshore said referencing to the little boy. "Yes I do suppose we must." Grayson said heading to the door. Ashshore followed close behind. They left the broken door on the floor and stepped over it. I wait for what seemed to be a few hours before I came out of the floorboards. My parents and my brothers bodies lay on the ground.
I grabbed my mother's necklace and her wedding ring along with my fathers. My mother used to say the day she would take the ring off is the day she died. I guess she was right. I put the rings on my mother's necklace and grabbed four of my brothers oversized hoodies to keep me warm. I grabbed four pairs of my shoes and clothes to wear and food and water bottles from the kitchen to last me a while. I grabbed all the money from the safe and the credit cards in case I need them. I stuffed everything in a leather pack and took off.
I shifted into my wolf and took the bag in my mouth. "Let's go child, we may not stay here. It is dangerous even for us." Aries soft voice spoke in my head. I nodded and started trotting to save my energy instead of running. Aries took over after a while because I was to tired to run anymore. We ran for a total of 18 hours, thanks mostly to the training I had at the pack and Aries taking control some of the time.
We ran until we reached a cliff with over hangs large enough to cover us and our stuff. "We shall rest here for now. But tomorrow we must keep running." Aries said. I shook my head and replied "yes Aries." I shifted back into my human form and pulled out a pair of jeans and a long sleeve shirt before pulling one of my brothers, Austin, large hoodies over my small frame. I took some water and drank a small bit of it before putting it back in the pack.
I curled up into a ball and rested my head to another one of Austins hoodies before Aries started humming in my head to help me sleep. It was the same song my mother would hum to help me sleep at night. I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep. Soon morning came and I blinked my eyes open. "Good morning scarlet." Aries spoke as she had just woke up and her voice was covered with sleep.
"Morning Aries." I said getting a health bar out of my pack to eat. Once I was done eating, I pulled off the hoodie shirt and jeans and placed them into the pack so they wouldn't rip. I shifted into wolf form and let Aries take control. Aries ran through trees and over logs at about 30 miles per hour.
"Aries? Why are we running so fast?" I asked as she dodged a tree. "Because we still need to train. We have got to keep increasing our strength in case we need to run or fight." Aries said as she increased our speed. "Ok. Can I run for a while?" I asked. "Scarlet you have to shift and be strong in your human form so if you wish to train you must do it in human form." Aries said. "Ok." I agreed. I shifted and put on a pair of shorts and and training kind of crop top for the young pups training that we had to wear. "What do you want me to do first?" I asked Aries.
Aries shook her wolf form head in our mind and said "Climb that tree in four seconds. If you can't keep doing in until you can. No breaks." I nodded and jumped with my wolf and human strength to a branch about 3 times higher then my height. I did the same until I reached the top. "How long was that, Aries?" I asked.
"15 seconds. Not even close child. Again." Aries said. I turned around so my back was facing the tree before jumping of the tree and free falling. Once I neared the ground, I did a flip landing on my feet. My legs bend slightly in pain but my wolf healing healed it after a few minutes because it was small. "Begin." Aries said. I jumped to a taller branch this time and began climbing up the tree by jumping from branch to branch. "12 seconds this time. You must do it again." She said. I jumped again and did another flip in the air and this time I rolled to the ground instead of landing on my feet. I walked to the base of the tree.
"Begin." Aries said. I jumped even higher then the last time. I climbed again and again to the top but always barely shy of 4 seconds. "Aries. I can't. I can't do it." I said panting. "Keep going child." Aries said sharply. I whimpered and walked to the base of the tree. I pushed all of my remaining energy onto jumping the branches. When I was finished Aries spoke in my mind. "4 seconds. Good job." Aries said proudly.
I grinned. "Again." Aries said. "But..." I started. "Again." Aries demanded.
