I wake up to a very annoying noise, I slowly croak my eyes open. It's my alarm, oh when will I ever get a break. I look over to my side table and see the intimidating red digital numbers say "7:15". I roll myself off my bed, I look like a cave woman. I get up and look for Penelope. She's sitting on the couch with her pure brown hair in a bun. Penelope is probably the most prettiest girl I know, she gets all the guys and she's such a sweetheart, but she holds a hard fist with anything.
" Jade, you're up! I made pancakes they're on the stove. Are you going into work today?" She asked.
"Unfortunately yes, I get to greet all the weird slobs that would come into the Lucky Palms on a Sunday." I murmur.
"Honestly, I feel bad, man. It's like why even bother going in." She laughs.
" Shut up, Pen. Go talk to your boy toys." I grin.
"Yeah, yeah. Go stuff your face in my pancakes. The ones on the stove." She giggles.
"You made it so awkward. Trust me, Pen. No interest in your pancakes, either one of them." I say as I make my way into the bathroom. I look at my curly hair. What a fucking mess. I grab my straightener and start to do my hair. It takes me about a solid hour to even look half way presentable. I study the clock, I have to be in by eleven so I can open the bar up around twelve. I've been working at the Lucky Palms for about a year now and I guess I'm well respected there. I make a good thirty-thousand a year, so does Penelope. We both are in college but for different reasons. Penelope's family are big shots, I've been friends with her since middle school, they made her go to college or Penelope would have been fine with sitting on a leather couch with Loubottins on. After awhile she chose to major in Criminology, honestly it suits her well, she can get alot of information from just squeezing it out of someone. I chose health sciences, I've grown up with my Mom as a physician so I get that's my inspiration.
I get in my car, which is no beauty, my old Volkswagen. I start driving almost falling asleep. I slowly ride into the parking lot and unlock the bar door. I start to wipe off the counters and I get a phone call.
