An empty heart
accompanied by numb veins.
A dull ache
spreads through my brain.

As I sit in the shower,
a heartbeat pounding my ears
Curled in a ball,
wishing scalding water to erode
my fears.
I'm weighed by tears I cannot
shed.
My throat aches from invisible
screams.
Incredibly heavy, my soul's tired.
My existence tearing at the seams.
And I lay curled up,
until the water runs cold.
