Keepers of the Forest

Birds sang a lovely song, while the sun shown through the green leafs of the old and mighty trees.
Deers walked calm through the picture book like forest.
Insects were all around the colorful flowers and other strange looking plants.
Even the monsters of the forest kept silent and slept in peace in their dark holes which had a cold smell of earth and dirt.
Suddenly, out of nowhere a loud bang echoed through the peaceful place.
The birds flew away and over the crowns of the trees where a black sea of them, as they tried to escape of the might coming danger.
The deers ran away in fear, just like the rabbits did and the squirrels quickly hid on the trees.
Then everything went silent, not even a single bird sang at that moment.

"Hey, that's so unfair, why were you allowed to lit it and I was not ?"
A boy with long red-orange hair said into the silence.

" Cause I am a legitim adult and your a shitty son of a whore."
A girl answered.

I The boy sat on a branch and watched her, lighting the ignition cord of his bombs.
His hair was falling into his face and he wore a black cape, just as the girl in front of him wore.

"That are mine, actually ." He said.
"So?" She answered.

He sighed then jumped down from the branch.
In the same moment she stood up and put away the bombs and the lighter.
"We still have a meeting with that silly clown." The girl said.

He only nodded and held his hand out so a raven could land on his arm.
He put a letter into the ravens beak and then let him fly into to the opposite direction as they walked.
"Do you think we are far enough away?" The boy with red hair asked.

She pulled out a knife from the bark of a tree, which she used a few minutes ago to prepare the bombs.
"Don't worry Nigai, this time they won't notice." She gave him as an answer.
He nodded again and then both of them got on their way to meet the clown.

At the same time in Kodokuna Toshi, a little city in the north, was a war going on between citizen and soldiers.
The citizen's goal was their freedom and right to be treated as humans and not like animals.
But the mayor of the small city did not really care about this humans.
His name was Donshoku.
He was known for his gluttony and greed.
He didn't like the actings of the citizen.
They should be working for him and not fight against him.
He always got what he wanted.
Money, food, animals, he even got young girls if he ordered for them.

It was easy to control does people in the beginning, if he only pretended to be a good mayor, but the citizen noticed his fake mask of justice.
They wanted him to disappear and leave the seat of the mayor of this city.

But Donshoku had the soldiers, he had the power to keep the seat as the mayor.
So the war between mayor and citizen was holding on.

This war always existed, the mayor let everyone get killed if they had the courage to raise their word against him.
Humans were dying and the mayor never stopped his behavior.
Donshoku was never shamed of his doing.

This time the war was even more horrible then it ever was, the mayor ordered to kill every child in the city.
His motive was absurd.
A child had stolen one of Donshoku's rings and this was his punishment.
It was a girl that stole the ring, she only did it because she wanted to sell it and get money for her poor family.
When the mayor noticed that, he let the little girl get tortured and then he feed her to his dogs.

The mothers were crying in pain, while the fathers fought till their death to get revenge for their sweet children.

At the late afternoon, the sun disappeared behind dark clouds.
A gloomy mood and heavy air was in the streets of Kodokuna Toshi.

The streets were empty, only the corpses of the fathers and people who fought with them were laying on the ground.
Blood was running into the sewage channels.

Then there was a quiet noise.
Footsteps, that became louder.
That person must be running.
It was a boy with black hair and a brown cap.
He wore short gray pants and a brown cardigan.

The boy must have been hiding somewhere, so that he didn't got killed.
He was running with shaky knees and he couldn't breathe anymore.

The city was old and the streets where made of rough and uneven rocks.
As he was about to run left up some stairs, which were also made of this rocks, he fell and landed on the cold and hard street.
Some tears rolled down his red cheeks and blood ran out of his nose.
He was about to cry as he heard some soldiers coming into his direction.

He quickly got onto his still shaking feet and ran up the stairs.
When he was on the half way he suddenly heard a soft voice behind him.
"Poor boy."

He stopped and turned around to look at the person who said that.
When he looked down the stairs a girl with blond hair stood there.
She had deep blue eyes, pale skin and a wide grin across her face.

"W-who are y-you?!"
The boy asked her with fear in the eyes.
But she gave no answer and just stood there.
Then, behind her, a few soldiers ran up the stairs.
The boys body paralyzed and adrenaline rushed through his body.
His eyes widen and he lost his voice.

He felt a small hand on his shoulder.
Then hot air touching his ear.
"My, my, don't worry, this is not the end, it only just begun~"
She spoke softly into his ear.

The boy flinched, because he didn't noticed that she came closer and then stared into her deep blue eyes.
"W-what..?"

She chuckled and stepped behind him, laid her hands on his shoulder and spoke: "I'll help you, if you help me in return, Kay?"
The boy nodded quickly and panicked.
The mystery girl smiled as she covered the little boys eyes.

While the young boy was only seeing black, he heard splashing of a liquid and screams of the soldiers.
The girls hands were still covering the boys eyes and she didn't move.
When the noises stopped, the sky began to cry.

When she put her hands away, the boy saw only a few pieces of meat in front of him.
The flesh already started to smell and the blood was all over the place.
When the boy looked down at himself, he found himself covered in blood.
The organs of the soldiers were sticking onto the walls and as the boy sank to the floor he stared at an eyeball in front of him.
The rain started crashing down and washed away the blood of the soldiers.

He was speechless.
He was frustrated.
He did not know if he was in even bigger danger now.
As he turned around to look into the girls eyes, he found a girl with a dirty grin and she looked like, if she was about to break out into a laughing fit.

She giggled as she spoke: " Now you have to do me a favor~"
The boy only kept staring at her and said nothing.
Then she continued.
"I want you to go into the forste and seek for two people called Amai Tsumibito and Nigai Tsumi.
They sell illegal stuff and I want you to bring me something from them."

The boy only nodded.
Horror was in his wide shocked eyes.
Then she spoke to him again: " What's your name~?"

The boy needed his time to bring out a tone.
But then he answered: " S-saigo...Saigo Kibō..."

She smiled at him and said in a sweet tone: "What a beautiful name, mine is Shizuka Kurushimi, nice to meet you Saigo."

Shizuka turned around looking over to  another boy.
He was standing in the distance , waving slightly to her.
The blond girl smiled and waved in return.
But Saigo, who was still kneeling on the ground was only staring confused and with fear into the direction of the strange boy.

-Izanyan : Well, I made a lot of mistakes in this chapters, grammar and  spelling.
I tried to correct it all, but if there are still bad mistakes please comment.
Anyway, I hope it's not as bad as I think it is myself.
