Chapter 5 Night Terrors

Zack placed his bag on the floor and yawned, walking over to the bed. " Okay so you have your side and I have mine. We do not cross this line." Charlie nodded, half listening As she smiled at her phone. "What are you all smiley about?" He said curiously. "None of your business. I'm just talking to a friend." He flopped on the bed and started to swoon dramatically "Ooo you are talking to that special someone aren't you!" as he got all up in her face making kissing noises. She groaned and pushed his face away "Hey at least mine is a real person and not a Cat Fish." He gasped CLEARLY offended. "Excuse you, Dendrophilia0124 is REAL. Just cause she cannot call, video chat, or send pictures does not mean we are not in love." Charlie rolled her eyes and turned onto her side, placing her phone on the nightstand. "yea yea, whatever." She yawned and curled up under the blankets and turned off the lamp. Zack curled in after her as they kept on their sides, not even looking at each other. As Charlie softly mumbled "Night Nerd.."

He smiled and mumbled back "Night Dork..." and drifted off slowly. She tossed and turned in the bed, unable to sleep. She sighed, sitting up looking at him snoring away. Charlie looked over at the alarm clock on the nightstand. It was already midnight? She slowly crawled out of the bed and tiptoed over to her bag and grabbed her swim suit. She slowly opened the door and walked down to the pool, used her key card to open the door as the smell of chlorine hit her nose. She went to the changing room, and stripped her clothes, putting on her suit. She walked on and glided her way into the empty pool, swimming laps and dunking her head every now and then. Zack woke up and looked over noticing she was gone, where the hell did she go? He looked over and noticed her bag was moved and sat up. He yawned and stretched, reaching for his phone. Right was he got to her contact she opened the door, drying her hair softly. "Oh hey, why are you up?" she softly said. He yawned again and rubbed his eyes, turning on the lamp "Wondering where you were, went late night swimming?" She nodded and put her hair up in a ponytail. He looked over at her and smiled "You coming back to bed, then...uh" She had her back towards him, as drops of water trickled down her bare back. "Don't stare weirdo." She slipped a over-sized shirt on that used to be her brother's and crawled back into bed. "Goodnight Zack." "Night Charlie."

As she shut her eyes and began to doze off Her mind wandered, as blurry visions of her brother clouded her mind. How his smile made her day brighter, his laugh, made a room less awkward. He could brighten any situation. She remembered his messy brown hair, silver rimmed glasses, and his favorite red sweatshirt. She swore she saw him. Standing there before her. Arms open, smiling, waiting for her. She ran, as fast as she could to him, eyes swelling with tears. He smiled at her, as he started to look distorted. blood started to soak his sweatshirt, and his glasses cracked and broke. His smile became more distorted and the rich blood poured through his nose, sirens filled her head as she screamed.

She jolted up in a cold sweat, scaring the absolute shit out of him "The Fu-!" as he looked over at her, crying till she could not breathe. He gulped and quickly scooped her up. "Hey what's wrong, come on tell me what's wrong sweetie, shh it's alright." He softly pet her hair and whispered sweet nothings into her ear, trying to calm down the panicking blonde. "I..I saw Jason..a..and he..he" He shushed her again holding her close "I know sweetie, I know.." He laid back, stilling holding Charlie tightly in his arms. "It's alright, I'll keep you safe, go back to sleep, shh go back to sleep." She sniffled softly and took a few deep breaths, curling up onto his side. She softly rested her head on his shoulder and exhaled a breath. "Thank you..." He smiled and ruffled her hair. "Any time Charlie.." They curled up and he smiled softly, gave her one last look and mumbled "Night Dork..."
