'MAX I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DON'T GET HERE WITHIN THE NEXT TEN MINUTES I WILL GLADLY KICK YOUR ASS' I screamed down the phone at Max's answer machine. Dont get me wrong, its normally max thats late but this is one of the biggest days of our lives so far.

"Lot, calm down, he'll be here soon, he knows how big today is and he also knows that we can't perform without a lead guitarist" Casey said as she led me to the couch in our tiny appartment.

Casey is our drummer and also the oldest of the band (20). Max is 18 and literally 2 days older than me, but that doesnt mean he acts any older.

At the moment we are sitting in our shared appartment waiting to leave to set up for the gig that could either make, or break us. After sending our demo to Fearless Records, they asked for a meeting and to see us live, so we set up at gig at a local bar and invited them.

I sat down and leant on Luke's shoulder, Luke's the youngest of us (17) and our bassist. I pulled my legs up and put them on our Rhythm Guitarist, Brad's (17), legs.

All together we are a little family and have been for the 3 years we have been friends.

I met Max first when I had first moved to America, he was working in a music store and when I went in to get some new cd's and records he helped me out. After a few visits to the store we exchanged numbers and began to hang out. He introduced me to Casey and Luke, and told me story's of how they new eachother in school and how Casey used to help them out when they had trouble with other people from school. We all had a passion for music and decided to start a band, as that was all our dream despite what we were studying. We put out an add for a Rhythm guitarist and we got a call from Brad, he was the same age, just a little older than, Luke and we all got along with him so it worked for us. And there was the beggining of what is now, almost signed, band Taking Over. We've supported eachother throughout the tough times and smiled throughout the good times.

A slam came from the front door and an out of breath Max came bursting through the door, "I'm here I-I-I'm here" He was carrying  his guitar and a letter in his hands. "I'm so sorry, I was trying to get here but I had stuff to do and omg I'm so sorry" He could see that I was mad, the others didn't really mind because we still had a small amount of time, but he'd promised me that he wouldn't be late. "Whatever Max, lets just get there and set up, yeah?" I said puching through everyone and helping them carry their stuff.

I peaked my head round to look onto the stage and the crowd and It started growing, this wasn't the biggest crowd we'd performed too but it was still a crowd, plus we had a lot riding on this gig, therefore I was nervous.

I sighed loudly knowing that it was time to go on. The band stood to the side of the stage ready to go on. I was at the back trying to calm myself down. I knew when I was standing on the stage I'd feel way better. Soon It wa smy turn to get on the stage, I walked on with a huge smile on my face and bounced the mic, "HOW WE DOING TONIGHT?!" I shouted into the mic, a  loud scream erupted from the crowd, "That good? Fantastic! Well lets get on with the show! This is Waisting In The Shadows"

We jumped off the stage and danced around, getting rid of all the excess energy from the gig, "That was so fucking awesome! We killed it out there!" Casey screamed. A choras of 'hell yeah's' came from the group. "Well, I guess we should go out there and see if everyone else thought so" Max said, we all did a little groan and made our way to the bar.

As I was waiting for my drink, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see a guy in his 30's dressed in jeans and  a Motley Crue top. "Lottie? I'm Mark, I'm from Fearless Records, I would like to say a very well done for that performance up there, it was great. I would like to offer you and your band a recording contract with us" I froze, this man had just offered me our dream, I couldn't refuse but I couldn't really speak either, I was speechless. "Yes, we'll take it, thank you sir!" A voice came from behind me, it happened to be Max. " Okay then, well we'll send the paper work off to you in the next few days and I wish you all the best until we meet next time"

And that was how we got signed.

Now for the real adventure.
