The Return

Authors note: first of all I don't own the Yu Yu Hakusho series and also I know that the series is originally in Japanese.

Yuske

"One more step Yuske.." Yuske panted.

He lifted his arms in his signature gun motion. He gasped for air as his energy built up on his index finger.

"Spirit.. gun... blast!" He managed to scream as the wondrous blue light of energy crushed the dark walls and the beautiful light of the sun blinded his eyes.

"Man.. I miss that sun." He muttered as he fell in unconsciousness.

"Nice to see you again, dimwit." Said the old croaky voice of the old hag.

Yuske got up to see his master, Genkai.
"Just be glad your blast went out into the sky, then I would have found you Yuske."

Yuske smiled and ruffled his hair.
"Well what can I say? Where would I be without you Genkai." Yuske teased as he moved to sit up until Genkai full whacked him on the head.

"Stop moving you dimwit! I'm not done with the healing process!"

"Ouch! Oh wow how was it supposed to know! Besides why do I need healing, I'm not spirit detective anymore?"

"Yuske, you may not be the spirit detective but you still are one of the  most powerful demon and human altogether."

"So I won't be seeing mommy dearest anytime soon?" Yuske deadpanned.

"Also Yuske.. Your mother died, I'm sorry, her drinking addiction led to a failed organ, and she wasn't able to get a donor to replace the organ."

Yuske would have been crying but as he was lying down the tears fell back into his eyes and stung.

"You can get up now Yuske, I would have told you some other way."

"Well what now." Yuske said blinking back his tears and biting his lip.

"Kurama has offered you some where to shelter, however I feel it's unnecessary as you can stay here anytime you want Yuske."

"Thanks, but I wanna sight see the town for a while, after all anything can happen in 3 years." Yuske said getting up and putting his arm over head and behind his back.

"Be careful Yuske." Genkai mysteriously muttered.

Yuske walked around the town, it was oddly quiet. Suddenly large footsteps in rubble emerged from behind Yuske.

"Look I'm not looking for trouble but I just got back here and I'm retired ok?" Yuske spoke as he turned around.

"Yuske!"
"Kuwabara?!"

Suddenly Kuwabara raised his arm and punched Yuske to the ground.

"Ha! Yuske I surprised you didn't I! " Kuwabara laughed.

"So Kuwabara did you make it into that fancy prep school?"

"Oh yeah I forgot! I got in Yuske!" Kuwabara danced in victory

"Huh.. So where's the gang?"
"Oh off at Genkai's sanctuary wanna come?"
"Hell yeah!" Yuske smiled but something smelt off, how can the gang be at Genkai's sanctuary when he was just there.

"Hey, Kuwabara?"
"Yeah Yuske? Want me to beat you down!" He laughed strangley.
"What year did I die?"
"Ah ha! Don't be silly Yuske! You can't die if you're standing right here!" 'Kuwabara' laughed nervously.
"If you were the real Kuwabara you would know; that I died twice.. Spirit Gun!" He said his hands already formed in a gun.

'Kuwabara' flew back and he transformed into a huge bug like demon.

"You! Who are you and what are you doing in Living World! Enki specifically said no more funny business here!"

The bug looked at Yuske and laughed as it died.

"Makai insects, this is phase 4. They enlarge and take form of a loved one from their victims mind." Said the recognisable calm voice of Kurama.

"Hey Kurama! Wait.. how do I know it's you?"

"Relax Yuske, they are unable to take form of A class demons, however, they can see who we love in our minds. Rest assured like we can shield our energy we can shield our thoughts."

"So where is the gang?"
"On their way to Genkai's sanctuary, Botan is already there." He smiled looking at a coin.
"What's that? Some kind of facetime device?"
"No Yuske, a communication device can be applied to any object, we chose a coin." He said digging into his pocket and pulling out another coin.

"So another one of Pacifier breath's toys?" He frowned tossing it up and down.
"Careful Yuske, when flipped it opens up an option to teleport-"
"You fool." Said the grumpy voice of Hiei."
"Who's my favorite 4ft 5 demon with a giant sword and a people eating dragon!"
"Watch your tongue Yuske, besides my dragon has already fed."
Yuske's eyes widened as he slowly backed away while he knew Hiei's third eye was secretly glaring at him.

"So should we go now?" He smiled nervously.
"I suggest you ask one of them to flip their coin to open up another teleport action option." Hiei said as he disappeared.
"Okay.. Keiko!!  Open up the option!"
Kurama smiled nervously sweat animated on his forehead.
"It doesn't work like that. Only spiritually aware can communicate, however she can call for help just not read messages."
Yuske glared;

"And you tell me now??!"
"Oh look Botan opened up an option-" and then Kurama disappeared.
"Kurama!"

Yuske looked at the coin.

"Ugh! Someone flip the coin already!" Yuske yelled anxiously as he tossed it to the ground.

Suddenly a huge eruption came, Yuske looked at the ground.
"What the?-"
A figure in a dark robe ran past Yuske grabbing his arm.

"Hurry." They said as they ran faster, then the figure stopped and spun their index finger around a rock it opened like a door and the figure led him inside.

"Who the hell are you?"
The figure removed their hood to reveal short-chin lenght dark hair and wolf ears, her eyes were glowing yellow and there were tattoo spiral going up her arms and stopping at her shoulders, her skin was fair and was almost the same skin tone as Kurama's and she was wearing baggy trousers and long black shirt which was lacy around the collarbone.

"My name is Deja. I was hired by Koenma to make sure the mortals of this land doesn't all die."
"What? You mean pacifier breath?"
"Watch it Yuske."

It was Koenma, as a baby. Yuske jumped.
"Ugh! First you're eye-level height and now your a dumb midget again!"
"Yuske will you for once shut up! Anyways, Yuske this is Deja, now she mostly won't be here at night because she's from another time universe of living world so when her true human form sleeps she's in our universe as her demon form."
"So she's an alien?" Yuske deadpanned as he turned to Deja whose eyes turned red.

"No, but be careful with her, trust me her main spirit energy is weak but it is converted into darkness to give her opponents the wrong idea while her demon energy is ruthless."
"You talk like I'm about to fight her."
"Well don't insult her, she's the one keeping Keiko alive." Koenma smiled raising his eyebrows teasingly while Yuske growled.

"I'll  bring you to her." Deja finally spoke.
"Yeah thanks-"
Suddenly the air turned dark and they were in a dark tunnel.

"What the?-"
"Concentrate; it's like swimming but you can breathe, now if you don't you might end up in the wrong place.."
