Prologue

Chapter One

Hi, I'm Renee, I'm a teenage girl from the south. My best friends name is Alana, we met about 3 years ago through a close friend of mine. Me and her first hated each other, but soon became good friends. Eventually I met her brother, Josh, he was the captain of the football team, and basically the most handsome guy in school. We didn't talk much at first but when we did we found out we had a lot in common, making it easier for us to talk to one another. Eventually we ended up falling in love and that's what I'm gonna tell you about, is how me and my best friends brother fell in love.

August 2

I woke up to my phone ringing, looking over at it, Alana's name showed up.

"It's 6 in the morning Alana! What do you need?" I said tired and annoyed.

"Did you forget today is our first day as juniors?" She questioned me.

"Fuck, I forgot. Is your brother taking you to school?" I replied, jumping out of the bed looking in my closet for something to wear.

"Yeah, why? If you need a ride, we'll be over in an hour, but I got to go I'll talk to you when we pick you up." She stated, hanging up the phone quickly.

It was the first day of mine and Alana's Junior year. I couldn't go just wearing anything. I searched for my closet looking for something good to wear, after 10 minutes of searching I found a pair of my old ripped jeans, and a nice black ruffled shirt. I looked at myself in the mirror as I styled my hair and done my makeup. After getting all ready, I went downstairs and had about 25 minutes left til Alana, and Josh were gonna be there, so I decided to make myself some breakfast.

When Alana, and Josh showed up I was waiting outside on our porch. I walked to the car and hopped in the front seat.

"Hey Josh." I sweetly said, smiling at him. Alana rolled her eyes, she knew I've had a crush on him since me and him got close, I never told him though because he always was with someone.

"Hey, Ren. You excited?" he said putting his arm around my chair as he pulled off.

"What's to be excited about? It's just another year in this hell hole we call school." I laughed.

"Yeah, I know the feeling but you'll make it." he smiled at me.

I blushed a bit turning away, so he didn't see that I was.

When we got to the school me and Alana were the first ones out the car, Josh was on the phone with their mom, so he sat in the car while they talked.

"Renee, you know Josh is single now right?" Alana smiled, as she continued "This maybe your one chance to tell him how you feel, I know he likes you too."

I shook my head, as I opened the door for us to walk in "No Alana. If he likes me I want him to tell me himself, not me tell him then him feel like he has to like me back."

"Okay I'm just trying to help you out Renee." she smiled.

Not long after we got there had the bell rung, Alana hugged me before she went to her class. I walked upstairs as I looked for the Earth Science class I had for first period, I roamed the hall about 5 minutes before I found it. Walking into the room I saw Josh sitting in the back of the room with some of his guy friends, I walked back and say next to Josh.

"Hey Ren. Didn't know we had the same first block." he shockingly raised a brow.

"Neither did I." I smiled kindly at him.

The teacher walked in after what I said, causing everyone to rush to sit in a seat.

"Welcome to earth science. I am Mr. Strife, and I'm the proud teacher of this class." Mr Strife announced. "Everyone please get out a spiral notebook and a pencil so we can begin please."

Pulling out what he had said, I saw Josh put a note on my desk. I opened up my notebook, then opened the note "Can I ask you something, Ren?" it said. I wrote yes on the note, folding it back up as quietly as possible, waiting for the teacher to turn around before passing it back to Josh.
