I wake at bright and strong sun rays hitting my eyelashes, with a headache. I look around, the ambiance of the place seems to be familiar. The person next to me seems to be more familiar. The entire scenario, well not at all familiar.
Sid is sleeping next to me and I try to rant my thoughts as to what happened last night. Everything is a blur. Bits and parts of it I could remember, I think it was my birthday. I and my friends, we'd gone to a club, I had some beer, I got drunk, I passed out.
Holy shit!
I GOT DRUNK AND I HAD PASSED OUT!
And now I'm here, at my boyfriend's place, he is sleeping next to me, and we're on the same bed. SAME BED!
I just wish if this bed could open up and swallow me or this sealing to tear up and absorb me or this entire planet to gulp me down where nobody ever, could find me.
I try to recollect my memories of last night, if I and Sid...
Nothing I could remember.
Sid starts to move on his side and he mumbles 'good morning' to me.
I frown and wonder 'what is good about this morning' when he gets up and smiles at me.I force a smile back at me.
"Had a good night?" He asks excitedly. "Not sure," I mumble. He frowns at me, "Are you alright Anu?" I smile at him reassuringly, "Absolutely."
He gets off the bed. I notice that he is not wearing anything on top and just boxers below, revealing his perfect abs and long lingering legs. My face turns red in 0.00004 seconds out of embarrassment.
My thoughts are overtaking my head. I cannot stop thinking about what could have happened last night. I silently pray, that this is just another nightmare. This is not at all real.
"Earth to Ananya," says Sid with the edge of tease in his voice. I turn my head towards him with utter confusion on my face. His smirk changes and an expression of confusion makes way on his face, too.
"What's wrong Ananya?"
'Everything' I wonder. "Did we...?" I ask in a tone that clearly denotes worry.
A chuckle escaped his lips, "Did we.. what?" His eyes dancing playfully.
"Sid, did we...?" I shake my head in disbelief.
He couldn't hold back anymore, and burts out into a roar of laughter. I am the definition of confusion right now and I'm glaring at him, wondering if he doesn't tell me what happened last night between us on this bed right away, he is going to be dead the very next moment. He stops laughing and clears his throat. "No Ananya we didn't. You are very much a virgin," he says. I sigh in relief he and sits next to me on the bed, clearly making me nervous at his nakedness and closeness, "you were right Anu, now is not the time."
I'm all red now with complete embarrassment. What was I even thinking? My boyfriend would try to make a move on me by getting me drunk? I should stop watching crime shows now. They are seriously getting into my head.
"Besides, you were drunk and unconscious. That's such a turn off man. I could have thought of it if....," he moves his forefinger over my face with that seductive expression of his. I slap his finger off my face and grab the pillow beside me. I start hitting him playfully with the pillow and he tries to defend himself with his hands and takes the pillow from me and throws it away.
"You wish," I smirk at him and he chuckles at my response. "I'm starving," he says and we hear his stomach growl the very next moment.
We break into a roar of laughter and I step out of the bed. The maid gets us the breakfast and coffee and Sid thanks her politely.
I wash my face and brush my teeth with the brush that Sid just handed me over. We sit on the table and start our meal while taking sips of coffee.
The breakfast was Delicious. Cheesecake and muffins with toast and butter. "How did I end up at your place last night?" I ask once I gulp down the cheesecake down my throat and take a sip from my coffee.
Sid shakes his head in disbelief, "Are you serious? You don't remember what happened last night?." The way he was looking at me made me wonder if I had just murdered someone last night, and here I am, hiding my ass, after committing a hideous crime in my drunkenness.
I stared at him blankly and responded to his question by shaking my head.
"You were going all crazy last night Ananya, you were laughing like a maniac all the time without any good reason. You took off my jacket, and rolled it in air while dancing on the bar table and almost tripping down, losing your balance if we weren't to hold you. After the beer, you passed out and we tried to get you back by sprinkling some drops of water and thankfully we succeeded. But we regretted immediately at our success because once you were up, you tried almost every other type of drink. You emptied another bottle of beer, tried vodka shots, snatched Khushbu's glass of wine and emptied it. Too bad that your system couldn't take so much in just one night, you threw up a lot in the restroom of the club. I decided to get you here because I didn't want to spoil everyone else's night. I'm happy that the tablets I gave you last night, worked well and you didn't wake up with a terrible hangover."
"I'm sorry," I mumble my apology, not making an eye contact with him. He chuckles, "it wasn't really as bad as you think it was Anu. I never thought this part of you even exists. You are always so calm, so composed and this sudden personality flip, was really fun to see. We all had a blast around you last night. Seeing you laugh like that, made us all laugh along with you and we were all dancing while you were making those historical moves and making the crowd hover on the songs regardless of the rhythm, music and lyrics." He was laughing by now, ranting about the most embarrassing night of my life. I was still avoiding eye contact with him when he pulled my chin with his hand, directly looking into my eyes and saying, "last night, I discovered the real you."
