BEEP BEEB BEEB 'ugh' I turned of my alarm clock moaning. A new day of school. But also I get to see Lily again. I jumped out of bed and walked over to my wardrobe. What should I wear today? Of course I have to look good or she'll think I'm lame. After some thinking I squeezed into some black ripped jeans and I put on a red and black flannel. I put some eyeliner on and a beanie on my head. That should do, I think. After that I went downstairs. I had barely entered the kitchen or my parents start complaining again, like they always did. I rolled my eyes and tried to ignore it, but that's hard when your mom is nearly yelling. I knew my grades were bad and I didn't need reminding that I had to clean up my room. I finished my breakfast quickly, brushed my teeth and looked for my mp4 player. I turned up the volume of my favourite band and left the house, before my parents could say a word. I arrived at school one minute before my first class started and hurried to my classroom. I was always late for school. My first class was French. I hated French but since I sat beside lily it was alright. 'There you are, I thought you wouldn't come' Lily said to me. 'I'm here now' I said with a smile. For the rest of the class we didn't talk that much, because we were both not the best in our class and we needed to pay attention. Of course I couldn't concentrate because I kept thinking of Lily beside me. I had my eyes fixed on Lily's hands that were constantly ticking on her textbook. Her sleeves were rolled up and... I woke up from my daydream. Were those... scars? I looked away quickly. That was none of my business. After French, we had a free period. Lily and I found our friends and sat down at a table in a corner. Everyone had bought food and was now happily eating and chatting, but I couldn't stop thinking about Lily, which was no surprise, but this time I was thinking about her arms. Lily caught me looking at her arms and quickly put down her sleeve. 'Hey, are you okay? What are you looking at?' my best friend asked me, looking in the direction I had looked in, but Lily had gone. 'Huh, nothing' I mumbled, startled. Where had Lily gone? 'Uh I'm going to the bathroom' I said and rushed away. As soon as I entered the bathroom I thought I heard someone crying. 'Hello?' I said. The crying stopped immediately. One of the doors slightly opened and there stood Lily. She looked so sad and it broke my heart. She had makeup all over her face and she had her sleeves over her hands. 'Are you okay?' I asked while grabbing some toilet paper and made it a bit wet. 'Well I mean you're obviously not okay but...' I stumbled. I walked over and tried to clean up her face a bit. 'You've seen them, haven't you?' she asked me, shaking. 'Yes' I said 'but don't worry, I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to.' 'Thank you' she answered. 'Do you want to talk about it?' I asked carefully, but she shook her head. 'No, I can't right now, it's kind of personal' 'okay, but know I'm always here for you okay? I told her. 'Thank you, I appreciate that' she answered and together we went back to our friends.
