Friend-a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection

"Hey, Alex!" I hear my Zoe best friend, of some degree, yell to me. "What's up?" I called after her. She's the only one who know about my name change and sexuality. You see, we go to a private christian school. Almost everyone is homophobic but I don't really care. She's only partly my best friend because there are so many things about me that she doesn't know. The top one being that I'm an aswang. "Amber!" my teacher shrieks. "You're late for class! Again!" "I'm very sorry, Miss Kash. I walk into the room and sit down next to my friend. "Hey, Z!" I whisper to her while pulling out last nights assignment. Miss Kash walks up to me and starts to inspect me work. "Very good, my dear," she starts. "But you need to put more detail. I am very pleased with your work, Amber." Bitch, I thought to myself as she walks away. I had analyzed her face while reading it. She was disturbed that I wrote my essay about the LGBT community. "Alex! Hello to Alex!" "What?" I ask as I look at Zoe. "Sorry, I'm kind of on edge today," I tell her. "It's okay, dude. Pass me the quiz?" I look at her, unaware of the pop quiz our teacher had just handed out. I pass the packet to her and sigh. No way was I ever going to pass this. I try to focus on the questions, but all I can think about is practicing my abilities. I manage to move a pencil a few inches and I almost made a stack of papers blow over. This was going to be a long day.
