I don't want one

First date

Daylin held my hand as we walked downstairs and out the door, he didn't even let go when some of his pack members saw us and gave me some curious glances. I asked him if we were driving and he said that we were going to walk. We were walking for a couple minutes before he finally spoke.

" Do you wanna play twenty questions "

" Sure you can go first "

" So um.... how old are you "

" I'm eighteen, what about you "

" I'm twenty- two I'll be twenty three I'm a couple months "

"I'll be nineteen in a couple months too "

" Hopefully you'll be around for both of our birthdays, so we can celebrate both of them together " he said with a smile on his perfect face. Causing me to blush, and laugh.

" I would love that, but we have to see how this works " I said gesturing between us

" I plan to do everything I can to make you want to stay " he said seriously looking me right in the eyes causing me to blush, and him in turn to laugh.

" Well I look forward to it " I say smiling. At this point we had stopped walking and had ended up at a park so we sat down on some park benches.

" So.... you're the alpha of your pack " he asked

" Yeah I had to take the position at the age of fourteen when my parents died " I said choking up a bit, which made him pull me into a hug. I rested my head on his shoulder, which smelt like pine and fresh forest air. " We never found their body along with my older brother and sister "

" I'm so sorry " he said rubbing soothing circles into my back causing me to shiver when I felt the sparks from that action.

" It's okay it made me stronger and I learned to live with it " I said

" I hope I'll be able to help through " he said pulling away and smiling at me.

" So what about you? What happened to your family " I said which made him tense up, and his face took on a sad expression. " It's okay if you don't want to talk about it " I said quickly

" No it's okay, it's.... it's just it makes me kinda sad when I think about them, but I don't mind talking about them " he paused then continued speaking " My parents were killed too like yours by rogues, but unlike yours their bodies were found, both their bodies were mutilated. My mom's stomach was slit wide open " I gasped " She was pregnant at the time so we thought that they probably killed the baby too " he said which so much raw pain that I pulled him into a hug, which he returned, like he did to me. We were both hurt, but I'm hoping that we can fix each other.

We sat there in each other's arms just enjoying the warmth and sparks we felt from each other. We stayed like that before he pulled away to look at me, his eyes slightly red though I didn't feel him cry.

" Thank you " he said

" Your welcome, and thank you too " I said, my eyes were also slightly red from crying. He wiped my tears away, and stood up pulling me with him.

" Shall we continue this walk " he said holding out his arm for me to take.

" We shall " I said taking his arm as we continued walking. After about half an hour we decided to go get some lunch.

" I know this place where they cell the best mud pie " he said

" Really? dessert first " I said

" What? It's the best part of the meal "

He said

" That I can't argue with " We walked a few more minutes before I saw a little old fashioned diner come into view. The sign at the top said Dusty's

" My parents used to take me here all the time as a kid " he said with a little bit if sadness " It brings back so many happy memories "

" Maybe you and I can create some more " I said

" I would love that" he said smiling down at me. He took my hand and we walked in. The interior had a very old fashioned 1950s feel just like he outside, there were little booths, and even an old fashioned juke box.

" Wow " I said " This place is really retro "

" Yeah, but the food's pretty amazing "

We walked to one of the booths and took a seat.

" Well hey honey, I haven't seen you in a while " said the waiter that came to take our order. She had brown hair with grey eyes, and she looked about twenty or so, I could tell by her scent that she was human, her mane tag said Diana.

" I haven't really had much time, but I promise I'll try to change that " my mate said

" You better " she said mock glaring at him " And who is this " she said looking at me " Is she your girlfriend " she asked making me blush.

" Not exactly, it's complicated " he said

" You better not let her get away " she said " She's a beautiful girl, and seems like a keeper.

" I don't plan on letting her go anytime soon " he said looking at me, and on cue I blushed, and they both started laughing.

" What can I get for you guys today " she said

" I would like a double cheeseburger with a chocolate milkshake please, and your signature mud pie for dessert " Daylin said

" Um I'll take the same please " I said

" Coming right up " she said

She came back a couple minutes later with two very delicious looking burgers and fries and two milkshakes.

" I'll bring your mud pies once your done eating " she said

" Thank you " we both said

We finished out food quickly, and it was the best burger and milkshake I had ever had. We were soon stuffing our faces with the mud pies which were equally as delicious. We payed the bill when we were done remembering to leave a tip for Diana. We walked the rest of the way back to the pack house while talking and getting to know each other better. All to soon we reached the door to my room where we had to say goodbye, not that I would have minded staying with him in his room, but I thought that it was too soon.

" Goodnight " I said when we reached my door.

" Goodnight " he said kissing my cheek letting his mouth linger there a little longer than necessary and walking back to his room.

I still felt the tingle if his lips on my cheek even after I had taken a shower, changed into my pjs, and climbed into my bed. Safe to say I fell asleep that night with a smile on my face.
