Forbidden Love

Chapter 1

This is my first book so please comment and give me feedback. I would love to improve my story. Hope you like it. :)

Chapter 1: 

The sound of my parents weeping and crying started to dawn on me. Before I knew it, I felt something wet drop on my cheek. "Great i'm crying." I said beneath my breath before wiping away my tears with the edge of my white, cotton sleeve. My pale shaking hand reached out towards the radio to turn the volume up, hoping it would distract me. This worked for a little while as I managed to drive for an hour or so without thinking of my parents and breaking down. However, my emotions took over my body again and I slowly began to cry. I never cried in front of people as I never learnt to cry in style, silent with a perfect pearly tears rolling down my cheek.  I was one of the many "ugly" criers who sobbed aloud and had red, bloodshot eyes after. I decided to pull over at a gas station to buy delicious M&M's as they always seemed to cheer me up. Besides I had one hour left before I reached the university and my tank was almost empty. I recklessly ripped open the bag of M&M's and instantly felt so much better as I dug into the bag of sweet, sugary, goodness. I slouched back in my black, leather seats trying to relax although it wasn't all that comfy as my old Jeep was a little tattered and torn. In my head, I debated whether I should turn back and go to Uni in Pine Grove or attend the collage of my dreams miles from home. I would miss my parents and that small, quaint town, but if I stayed there I would have missed out on a once in a lifetime opportunity. "Barden University School of Art" I can almost hear it calling my name. After a few minutes of questioning myself and what to do, I finally decide to carry on with my journey to Barden. I grabbed the gear stick and put my car into drive.

After a long, tiring drive I finally reach the university. As I pulled into the parking lot I was stunned by what I saw. A grand building with fresh, beautiful greenery and vines climbing up the walls. I quickly sprinted up out of the car and walked up the marble staircase leading to the double door. Just as I grabbed the doorknob, I felt a small, shock of electricity run through my arm and up to my elbow. Slightly confused, I took a step back then proceeded to open the door. To my surprise I looked up and saw an unwanted familiar face. Please, no, oh my gosh, are you serious, it can't be him. "Hello young lady my name is Noah Parkes I will be taking you on a guided tour of Barden university." He said whilst throwing his hands up in excitement. Meanwhile I was freaking out inside my head and trying to keep a calm face hoping he wouldn't notice. He could probably could tell something was wrong as i'm a terrible actor. " Is everything alright." Dammit it thought as I mentally face-palmed my forehead. "Yes I am perfectly fine, just a little amazed to be here." I lied, even though it was partially true. "Yes , people tend to be like that one their first day." he explained. "Okay well let's go, we don't want to waste any time. I will take you to your dorm first." it's weird he's being nice?!

"210, here we are, this is where you will be staying whilst you are here." he said. "Thank you for the tour. Its nice to at least know where I am going. This place is massive." I exclaimed. "Oh how rude of me, I didn't ask your name." I was hoping he wouldn't ask this. I thought to myself. "Uhmmmmm...."

"Wow interesting name, I know sometimes my good looks and great charisma tends to charm the ladies." he said confidently. Ahh there's the cocky Noah I knew. "Any way, so your name." he asked again. " Oh yes, sorry it's.." I took a small pause. "Ava Jones ." i said a bit softer. "Sorry what was that."

"Ava Jones." I repeated. He seemed quite taken back as expected. His facial expression changed dramatically as he came to the realisation of who I was.
