It was late at night, most people had already gone to sleep, but (Y/N) seemed to always be awake when others weren't. That's what was so weird about her, the others in the circus seemed to always stay away from her. There was something wrong with her according to them, never talking to other people. Except for the first-stringers of course, everyone talked to them. There was one person she talked to more often than others, and that would be Snake. The two people who didn't really have other friends within the circus seemed to get along swimmingly, which didn't surprise many people.

It was about midnight now, and (Y/N) had found herself sitting alone on a box outside of her tent. Nights often went like this, so it was normal, next to her was a snake. One that went by the name of Keats. He often followed around Snake, though he seems to have taken a liking to (Y/N), she would even start to talk to him, which made her seem even weirder to those around her.

"What are you doing out here on your own... says Emily." The voice was very familiar, and was nice to hear at the time, considering that there wasn't anyone around. It was always nice to talk with someone in private.

"Thought I would come out and get some fresh air, while my roommates are sleeping, and snoring their hearts away." (Y/N) said spitefully. Snake sat on the box, it was clear she wasn't in a good mood.

"What's the matter... says Emily" Snake said, tilting his head along with the snake that currently sat on his shoulder. (Y/N) looked away from him and looked down to the floor, ignoring the question that he asked.

"The others kicked me out again." She said quietly, not looking at Snake to avoid those eyes that always seemed to look right through her. No matter how much she would try, he could always find out something that he wasn't supposed to. That was why they were friends after all, one accident lead to another, and now they are here with each other.

"Again? it has happened before?... Says Keats." Snake moved closer to (Y/N) and grabbed her hand in an attempt to show some kind of caring. It made (Y/N) smile, Snake never really knew what to do when it came to emotion. The attempt to help was sweet, and it did make her feel a lot better, got to give him that.

"Thanks for coming to talking to me, though I suppose you should go to bed, it is awfully late at night, and I am sure you are tired from the performance earlier. You did great by the way." (Y/N) said smiling and standing up and beginning to walk away from Snake. She was going in the direction of her tent, hoping to be let in by her roommates again. Before she knew it, there was someone grabbing her wrist and dragging her backwards.

"Snake, that's you isn't it?" She said, she knew him well. He wouldn't have let her leave to just sit outside in the cold again, it was winter, there was no way someone should be sitting out in the cold this way.

"Come with me... says Oscar." Snake said turning her around so that she was going the right direction.

"Where are we going than?" (Y/N) asked as she followed Snake holding his hand. While she was being dragged she slipped her hand down and was able to grab his hand. He hasn't seemed to mind so far.

After a while of walking, they had made their way to the tents of the first stringers, somewhere she had never been around. Sure she talked to Snake a lot, but never came this close to his tent before. It was weird over here, there was a different kind of aura, though it was never there before. Maybe it was because it was midnight and there was literally nobody else around at the time.

"I don't think that I have ever been this close to one of the tents in this area, it's weird to be over here." (Y/N) said calmly walking still holding hands with Snake as they went over the wire. It was so quiet over here, there was literally nobody there. Minus the occasional snake the went past like guard dogs. "Great guards this place has got huh." she said looking at Webster as he went past her feet.
