A/N  A long-ish Louis One Shot for Dhriti :D. Hope you all like it and read it, I'll put up the rest later :).

Louis' POV

He looked at her laughing at some random thing he'd said, and couldn't help but smile. Her curls falling all over her face in the most beautiful manner imaginable as she continued laughing. I knew that once she started laughing, she wouldn't stop for hours, but that was fine. Her laugh was probably one of the mosh contagious things in the world. I felt myself starting to chuckle involuntarily as I lost myself in another laughing fit, clutching my stomach and gasping for breath. Once we were finally done she looked me, her eyes sparkling, watering and her face flush.

"Louis, tell me, da fuq are we sitting in the middle of a freaking carrot field?!"

That girl didn't have a single romantic bone in her body.

"You know I love carrots dhrits, and anyway, I wanted to talk, now is that so strange?"

She looked at me stragely, one of her eyebrows raised incredulously.

"Well, we could've talked in my room? Or in yours? Or on the phone?"

Dhriti's POV

I looked around suspiciously, watching him as he struggled to answer my question. The setting was way too romantic-y for my liking. A picnic in the middle of a beautiful field with a beautiful boy could've meant so much to so many other girls, but to me, it felt weird. Epsecially since that beautiful boy with deep blue eyes and that perfect hair and flawless skin, was my best friend. He'd been my first friend when we'd shifted to Doncaster, and since then Lou and I practically spent every waking moment together, or on the phone. I felt like I could be my retarded self with him, and I knew he felt the same way. He is quite retarded. He stoop up, brushing a few breadcrumbs off his signature black and White striped Tshirt and red chinos and looked at me sheepishly. If I wasn't suspicious already, he definitely had me freaking out now. He stretched his arm towards me, and I looked from his hand to his sincere face, confused. Fuck it, I thought as I took his hand and he pulled me up, yaking me off the perfect sunny yellow picnic mat and next to him on the grass. He scrunched up his perfect features and took a deep breathe in, I just looked at him, unable to move, unable to speak, absolutely shocked out of my mind as he began to sing. to me. My best friend was singing to me.

"I was her, she was me

We were one, we were free

And if there's somebody calling me on

She's the one"

Why this song? I groaned. He knew how much I loved this song.

"we were young, we were wrong

We were fine, all along

If there's somebody calling me on

She's the one"

As he sang the last line, he took my hand in his. I looked down at them, I still couldn't manage to say anything, I couldn't look up and see his face, I couldn't look into those eyes filled with emotion. I remember him telling me, that when he thought he found the girl of his dreams, he would sing this song to her. He didn't care if it was old school, it is a classic and Robbie Williams is genius. I remember laughing at how corny it all sounded, and now it was happening to me. Why would he ruin something to absolutely perfect? I felt tears welling in my eyes, which he mistook for tears of joy and continued to sing, but I couldn't take it anymore. His voice was like an angels, but the meaning of the song was cutting my heart into little pieces and making me nauseous. He was supposed to be my best friend and nothing else! Why would he try to change that? I ripped my hand away from his light grip and ran. I didn't know what to say, I didn't know what to do. Looking back, I realised what I did was quite stupid, but I couldnt think. So I just ran, I ran all the way home and didn't look back, to him. If I had, I would've seen him standing alone in a beautiful field, shock shown clearly on his face and pain in his eyes. I would've seen his heart breaking.
