As the family piled into to the ministry car that had been sent to deliver them to the station, Harry found it hard to meet Ron's eye as he was sure he would burst out laughing at the memory of his best friends now purple owl. It was a two hour drive to Kings Cross Station so Harry made sure to position himself away from Ron in the third row of seats in the enlarged car. Ginny sat next to him her head resting gently on his shoulder catching up on some well needed sleep. On his left side his mother was re -reading some class notes and his father and Mr Weasley were deep in conversation about muggle kettles. Harry was sure he must of drifted off to sleep because before he knew it his mothers voice informed him that they had arrived in London. Trunks were loaded onto trolleys and ignoring the usual looks, the wizard family headed towards platforms nine and ten. The usual muggle activities were taking place on a slightly dull Monday morning, sour faced business men were striding around the station, men selling newspapers were yelling above the noise of trains and the slightly musty air clung to the back of Harry's throat as he passed a group of school children arguing over the last piece of a chocolate bar. As Harry approached platform nine and three quarters the usual sense of excitement bubbled up inside him as the return to Hogwarts, his favourite place in the world, drew closer.

As Harry walked through the school gates he felt the familiar sense of warmth that enveloped him at the beginning of term. The crowds of returning students were full of excitement and Harry had already heard multiple mentions of the up and coming Quidditch World Cup and couldn't help smiling at the thought, although the previous World Cup hadn't had the best ending Harry was full of hope that this one would be much better.
