I should have known. I should have seen the signs. But I did not. I failed everyone.
I failed myself.
They are coming... I can hear their voices. I was the only one who knew how to stop them. Once they have me, there will be no one to stop them.
If I could simply spread the word... but who could I tell who would not be overcome? There is no one to go to. I am alone.
They are coming... thousands of them. Maybe millions. A foe beyond our comprehension. An enemy we can never understand.
How could I have been so stupid? Had I seen the signs, we would have stood a chance.
Now they will take everything.
They are coming... they are closing in. Closer, closer, ever closer. They are coming for me.
And they are coming for the world.
They are coming... yet none can see them. And how can you face an enemy you cannot see?
They are coming... small in size but mighty and strength. The Akrohai.
They are coming... they are coming within my own mind.
Hundreds of them. Hundreds of them, everywhere, anywhere. Whispering, always whispering. It's a miracle I've lasted this long. But time is running out.
They are coming... they are calling. Always calling. Even my mind will soon be there.
They are coming... the world is growing dark. My thoughts yield to theirs, my defenses crumble at last.
They have come... and I cannot stop them.
