After closing down the house, i dig through the kitchen cabnets searching for something to eat. When i run out of food, i'll have to move to a different home, but the man who used to own this house had been prepared for an apocolypse apparently. I settle on a box of cereal, no milk. As i sit at the table, screams and moans of zombies are heard. Some are the high-pitched screams of the ones being eaten. The low pitched ones are the ones wh make the otehr zombies their breakfast. They have to eat eachother now. It's either that or starve zombie style, which is where the zombie's body has to start eating itself. It's disgusting.
When i finish my cereal, i think of my old life. I had all the girls i wanted, was the quarter back, had a football scholarship and my family loved eachother. Most of the time. But that's all over now. And i will never be able to let go.
Sometimes, i do not understand why i want to stay alive. There's nothing left except to be a zombie meal twice in a row. That would suck.Taking my gun out of my back pocket, i go policeman style down to the basement. Once in a while, an infected rat will find it's way down here and that was not the greatest thing in the world.
Passing the warfare consisting of a million guns, grenades and nukes, i make my way down to the basketball court where i keep in shape not that running from zombies doesnt help. The fact that the screaming of zombies is hard to hear down here also serves as a plus.
I work out a little bit before hearing the slam of a door from upstairs. What the?!?
i drop the basketball, throw my shirt back over my head and get my gun running upstairs. Not seeing anything in the kitchen or living room, i head back to the basement until i hear a yowl. yowl of what though?
That's when i see her. Sitting in the bathtub, wearing dirty clothes and scrubbing at her fingernails. her dark brown hair looks wild in the messy ponytail and the water filling up the tub is muddy.
i stand there with my mouth open as she snaps her head up to look at me. her teeth are bared as if to say this is my tub! get your own! green eyes meet my blue ones and she looks away to focus on herself. Quietly, i shut the door. She is whistling something now. the song was vaguely familiar.
i slide down to the ground. this was beyond shocking. was it possible that i was not the only one left? yes apparently it was.
