Jet lag plus the knowledge you’re about to meet your heroes are two of the worst feelings to feel at the same time.
As you and your best friend park in front of the concert stadium you can’t believe it. You’re here. In England. With your best friend. About to see five of the hottest human beings placed on the Earth. All because of one phone call you made to your favorite radio station, and now you’re here. About to hear the boys, then meet the boys. no one fucking pinch me.
You head into the stadium. Down to your row five seats, curdosy of the radio station. Thousands of people are already there, crying girls, chattering teens and even a few boys. Its all too much to take in. You and your friend stay strong as you sit down and put on your 1D t-shirts and make sure your poster is nice and glittery and tucked away. Your gonna save it for the right time (*smirk). To cope, you and your bestie watch One Direction interviews, clips of the movie and play several intense rounds of guess the guy, A game your cousin created listening to the album and identify each boy singing.
Finally the lights go down, sparks errupt from the stage and people start standing up and knocking eblows with us. I can’t believe it. It’s starting. I screamed at the top of my lungs as a boy jumped on stage. But alas, it wasn’t Niall or Liam, it was Ashton, from Five Seconds of Summer. “Ofcourse” I thought to myslef “An opening act.” Still I screamed, because they were cute too.
After three 5SOS songs the lights went darker, the stadium quieter. I could hear girls start to freak out. Or maybe it was me. I was about 10 feet away from the future figures of One Direction and I didn’t realize how physically unprepared I was. I grabbed my friends hand just as she gasped “Harry,” Like her breath had been taken away by the deep, gruff voice that filled the stadium.
Straight of the plane to a new hotel
The stadium filled with cheers and screams, it was deafening. The front row of girls went WILD and there wasn’t even a figure on the stage to attack. Suddenly a wicked guitar chorus rips through the air and I can’t function my lungs properly as I see Niall Horan working his stuff on the highest platform. Bending into the guitar, limbo’ing to the floor and playing the guitar from his talented fingers.
Just touch down you can never tell ‘OW
Harry fades in right in front of me and my friend loses it. The spot light flashes on him as he sings but as soon as he stops and as soon as Niall plays, it switches.
Throughout the whole song I caught glimpses of Harry, Niall and Louis singing and jumping. First they’re here, then they’re another place. It was the worst form of Hide and Go Seek.
But as soon as Louis hits his high note:
oooo ooo ooo oo OOOOOOOOWWWWWWW
Everyone is visible. I can see every boy, every t-shirt (or tank top according to Niall and Zayn.)
When the stage lights first come on the stadium fills with cheers and screams and I see Liam on the edge of the stage. Right in front of me. Waving to everyone while he sings his part of the Chorus
MIDNIGHT MEMORIES OO o oooo
I see Harry and Zayn’s veins popping while they sing their hearts out. I see my friend literally freaking out as Harry sings the last high note of the song. Then the stadium goes pitch black and all you hear is Niall as he pulls the microphone to his lips and lets out a contagious chuckle, filling the stadium and setting my heart on fire.
Low lights come back on and I see all the boys sitting on stools. You and I. Starts playing and I see Niall with an acoustic guitar. Zayn is sitting on the end, one leg on the stool, one leg off. Harry isn’t even on his stool. He’s standing behind his with his palms resting on it, supporting himself. He’s talking to Liam on the side and a minute later Liam erupts with laughter, almost falling off his stool and spilling water everywhere. Louis, by Liam gets drenched and looks like a sad puppy dog, but continues singing his part. Niall, on the end, continues playing and ignores all the hubbub, lost in his own little world.
Most of the girls in the front row must have found a better place to stand because they left. My friend grabbed my hand and we squeezed upfront past all the other girls, crying and screaming over the song and leaned against the railing, right in front of our boys.
The boys sing a few more songs. Including Teenage Dirtbag, Don’t Forget Where You Belong, Half A Heart, Diana, Strong, and Through The Dark. All the while I cried and laughed while funny song jokes were made, mostly by Liam and Niall. Then the boys did a little half-time show.
