"Hey you, leave that monster child alone."

Normal POV
MK looked up into the darkness in relief at the  familiar voice.

"I THE GREAT PAPYRUS! will stop you!"

The attacker looked toward the small armless monster , then at the tall intimidating skeleton and ran out of the ally.

MK as never seen papyrus outside of school. But was still glad to see the councillor.

"Monster kid what are you doing out at this time of night. You should be at home, your parents must be worried sick!"

MK could feel the pit at his stomach grow larger

"Not to worry !" Exclaimed papyrus "I THE GREAT PAPYRUS shall escort you home "

Now fear returned to MK 's eyes

"N-no it's ok. Really " MK said while backing up into the wall more .

"Nonsense my small friend." And with that papyrus put MK on his shoulders and started walking out of the ally.

Now it was Mk' s job to not fall back but to lean forward ontothe skeleton's  head and think of a way he could get out of this.

"alright you can drop me off here." Mk said as they were now in front of a brick warn down motel building that was two blocks away from the dump.

'At least I'm close ' he thought

"Here you are monster kid I the GREAT PAPYRUS have safely escorted you home" papyrus said while setting him back on the ground.

"Um thanks." He said.

"Well I will see you tommorw at school correct?"

"Yeah, see you later papyrus."
Then he began to walk up the apartment steps like he lived there. He has done this many time in the underground. There would usually be a door that lead to a utility closet. The plan was to go in there and act like it was his actual home untill papyrus went away.

But one problem, he wasn't in the underground any more. This was the surface.  Things are diffrent

Since the place looked abandoned all he could hope was that the first door he opened was unlocked.

And lucky it was

Turning the handle  with his teeth he opened the door.  He used his tail to stop the door from opening wider in case papyrus was watching.

Once he closed the door he looked around at his surroundings to see where he was.

It was pretty hard to see but he was able to spot a window that faced the street. 

While looking at it he could spot papyrus under the street lamp taking one last look at the building before walking back down the street.

Letting out a sigh of relief he began to make his way to the door.

Monster kid could feel the end of the gun that was pointed at his back.

"I'm gonna give you five seconds to get out of my house before i blow you to bits you monster scum" a gruff voice said from behind.

" Please sir im sorry I-"
"1" he spoke

Monster kid didn't need to be told twice.

He scrabbled out the door as fast as his legs could carry him.

He stumbled out the door and ran down the steps as fast as he could.The man was now trying to shoot at him

"IF YOU OR ANY OF YOUR KIND SET FOOT IN MY HOME AGAIN YOU'LL ALL BE FULL WITH HOLES IN YA. YA HEAR!" The man yelled into the once silent night.

By now Monster kid was almost at the dump with tears in his eyes.

...meanwhile
Papyrus pov

"IF YOU OR ANY OF YOUR KIND SET FOOT IN MY HOME AGAIN YOU'LL ALL BE FULL WITH HOLES IN YA. YA HEAR!"

And then I heard gun shots fire.

This can't be good. And it sounds like it was coming from MK's home. What if something happened to him.

When I first dropped off MK i was surprised that he lived in such a sketchy place like this.

But it wasn't my right to be rude and insult his home.

I hurriedly ran back to MK's home only to see him running the opposite direction of it.

calling out to him would of been useless because he was already a ways away. I decided to silently follow him and see where he goes.

I followed him till we reached  mountains of garbage stacked behind a large fence

'What is he doing here ' i wondered.

then I saw MK jump over the fence and onto the side filled with garbage my suspicions grew even more.

I the GREAT papyrus......can not leap that high. nor can climb very well.

..... I'm terrified of heights

Luckily MK didn't seem to be in any danger. So i continued to watch him from behind the fence.

it seemed like MK was heading towards this mettaton shaped box
that was decorated in Christmas lights and had a small blue blanket inside.
MK slipped off his satchel near the  back of the box.

"no he couldn't be...." i mumbled to myself as a watched him bring  the blanket up with his teeth and turn over to sleep.

as much as i didn't want to leave him I turned around to head home.

For some reason Sans gets paranoid whenever I'm walking alone at night. especially since we've moved up to the surface.

but the image of MK sleeping out in the cold haunted me all throughout my return  journey.

"Why did he lie to me."

"Why was he sleeping in a garbage box?"

but most of all,

"Where were his parents?"
