She ran through the forest as if she had sprouted wings and were flying. She dodged a few rocks, tree stumps and low hanging branches as the forest scene seemed more like a blur of colors. She ran as fast as her feet would take her until she stopped at the edge of the forest to catch her breath before moving on through the small village and didn't stop again until she had reached Bane's small cottage looking hut.

He opened the door and she finally stopped for a moment.

"Where have you been? Are you hurt?" He asked the worry in his eyes.

"Yes there was an emergency, I had to help. A young girl fell in the woods, I carried her home." She blurted out.

"Oh, Is that why you were so late?" He asked in a neutral tone.

"Yes, I'm sorry about that dear. I'd never mean to worry you." She replied.

"It's fine, Is the girl going to be okay?" Bane asked her.

"Yes, just a sprain. She's home resting with her mother."

"Oh good, come in, please."

She nodded and kissed him on the cheek before following him inside.

"Thank you for being so understanding, I didn't mean to be late." She informed him.

"It's fine, I just worry about you. I know what kinds of dangers lurk in some of these woods." He told her.

"I've not met anything too dangerous."

"Just because you haven't seen it with your own two eyes doesn't mean it isn't really there." He explained as he escorted her to the small couch The fear evident in his eyes."I worry about you."

"So as long as I can handle you dissappearing once a month that's the worst of it all?"  She asked changing the subject.

"I believe so. Will you be able to handle it?" He asked, hanging on her next word.

"I think I could live with that." She replied and he kissed her.

"Come then, we shall go to the pub."

"That would be fine with me." She replied and followed him to the only known pub in the area.  Some of the locals were in the small corner tavern having drinks after a long day at work.
