"Get away from me!" I exclaimed, pushing the man to the ground violently and making a run for it.
I was never a very good runner, but I knew damn well that in this situation, i'd run as fast as I can.
"Come back, sweetie!" one of the men yelled, but something was odd about his voice and the words came out.
He must have been running behind me. Shit.
I didn't dare look behind me. I just ran as fast as I could and tried to find help somewhere.
I came upon a tight corner that lead into a dead end with a loose metal ladder that was half broken gripping onto the left side of the alley.
I stopped dead in my tracks and thought of my options.
a) I could try to fight these guys, which there was 4 of them so I would clearly be outnumbered.
b) I climb up that old, broken ladder and hope for the best.
"There ya are, gorgeous" one of the men proclaimed, his drunk friends following behind him.
"shit" I muttered under my breath as I took my chances and ran for the latter.
Luckily enough for me, i'm quite light and I had years of acrobatics under my belt. I easily jumped and grabbed onto the ladder, climbing it in seconds as I turned to look back down at them from the rooftop.
They looked up at me, puzzled as to how I magically ended all the way up here.
I took the ladders handles and pushed on it as hard as I could. After a few seconds, it had detached from the wall and fell to the ground, knocking out one of the guys on the way down.
I stuck my tongue out at them and kissed my middle finger, making sure they saw it.
All the fun and games aside, I made a brisk run for it across a few rooftops until I finally saw my street.
Making a mental plan of how I was going to get down from here, I jumped onto one of my neighbors window sills and jumped again, doing a tuck and roll as I landed.
I quickly ran across the street to my house and threw myself inside, shutting and locking the door before turning off all the lights.
Once I decided the coast was clear, I walked up the grand staircase to my room and threw off my tattered black silk dress that came up a few inches above my knees and kicked off my high heeled boots.
Once I had changed into some baggy gray sweatpants and a black tank top, I walk down the hall and to the room mext to mine, opening the door a bit to peek in.
There, lied my best friend Lyssa. Her soft snores told me that she was fast asleep, so I closed the door and walked back to my room, not caring to close the door.
I flopped myself down on my huge feather-cushioned bed and stared at the ceiling for a few minutes, taking in what all just happened in the past 10 minutes.
See, none of that was supposed to happen. I had originally went to this 5-Star restaurant to meet up with a blind date I had found online and I had sat there for over an hour, waiting for him to show up. Of course, he didn't. After being stood up, I began my walk home in the cold winter air. I had taken an alleyway a few streets away from the restaurant because it wa sa quicker route.
That's when it all went downhill.
I few men were standing outside of a local bar and saw me walking by myself.
In their druken stupor, they decided it'd be a great idea to try to get me to come back to their place so they could use me for sex. I denied their offer and began walking again. They followed me and one pinned me against a wall.
andddd that's what started the chase.
"We really need to move away from here" my inner self thought. I sighed in agreement and rolled over onto my side, cocooning myself in a blankety womb.
"Maybe we can move next week" I thought. "But to where?"
I thought about it quite a bit until I realized that I have always wanted to travel to England and haven't had the chance yet.
A small smiled appeared upon my face as I mentally promised myself that we'd move there next week. Maybe I can visit my best friend Sebastian?
Sebastian is my best friend of three years that lives in Melksham, just an hour or two away from London, where i'd be arriving.
I had never met him in person, but we've Skyped countless times and he was the person who I told everything to.
"Maybe i'll give him a call " My inner-self thought.
I checked the clock on the marble bedside stand and it read "2:04am".
I sighed and thought about what England was like before I drifted off into a peaceful slumber.
