5:00AM
I wake up to the sound of my alarm. It's foggy outside so I slip on a Nirvana sweater then head straight for the door and grab my bag on the way out as I hear my dads door opening. I knock on my neighbors door, then wait for the girl I carpool with. Her big brother answers the door and motions for me to come inside. I sit on the couch with a scruffy dog and began to pet him while I wait.
Minutes later, Rebecca walks out with her bag hanging over her shoulder. "Hey, kid." She says to me with a slight smile.
Once we make it to school, I see my friend Belladonna, with her beautiful brown hair and eyes with perfect tan skin. "Hey, Astrid! Wanna spend the night? We're getting pizza!" She says with that beautiful smile of hers.
"Sure!"
"Great. Anyways, how'd you sleep last night? Your eyes are kinda dark."
"Oh. Fine. Just woke up early, that's all."
Belladonna looks to the ground and her smile disappears.
The bell rings and we both head to class, after a quick hug.
"See ya at lunch"
She waves goodbye.
In class, I can't concentrate. I stare blankly into a corner and start to daydream.
"ASTRID!"
Mrs. Ramona screams.
I quickly look up with my eyes wide open.
"Ye- yeah... sorry-I - I was just-"
Before I could finish, she rolls her eyes and tells me to shut up and pay attention.
I look down to my desk. If only it were that easy. I thought to myself.
Before I know it, the bell rings and class is over.
