Teenage Vampire

The Sleep Over

After school, Belladonna and I start walking to her house. Once we make it there, we put on pajamas. She sees my bruises and her face darkens. We start watching scary movies. I fall asleep during one and wake up to her leaning over me with her face just above mine. I feel the urge to kiss her but she does first. Then I feel her warm breath down my neck and then fangs going into me. I fall into a heavenly bliss, feeling endorphins flooding my body. When it's done I feel alive and all my bruises have disappeared but my skin appears to be lighter. Seeing that, Belladonna smiles and giggles. "I have tanning cream for that." She assures me.
Her smile goes away.
"I know where you get those bruises..."
She begins to say.
"Your dad isn't a good man. But now you don't have to worry about him. You can't get hurt anymore."
I sit in shock. I never knew she knew the things my dad did. And it saddened me. Nor did I know she was... well a vampire.
"So now I can't go into the sun?"
I ask, confused.
She let's out a big laugh.
"No, silly. That's just a cliché. And garlic won't hurt you either."
She handed me a book.
"What's this for?"
"Read it."
She says.
I begin to read. To my surprise, I can concentrate. I understood everything I was reading for the first time.
I look up at her in appreciation.
"Thank you!"
I exclaimed.
"Can- can you do that again?"
I ask.
"No, once you've been bit, you can't be bit again."
She explains.
"Oh. Well, it felt amazing."
She smiled again.
"I know."
She started to blush.
I smiled. I must have been blushing too because after she asked
"Do... do you like me, Astrid? Like, like like?"
"Um - I - uh."
"It's okay if you do, Astrid. Because, well... I like you too."
I look up to see her looking into my eyes. This big beautiful eyes.
I smiled the biggest I've ever smiled and nodded.
"Astrid, will you be my girlfriend?"
"Of course I will, Belladonna!"
