Young Justice - Robin's Sick Day

Mission

   "Robin - B01"

   I walk in. I see my team and Batman in the middle of the room, I guess Batman was telling them about a mission to go on, because holograms of a building and a lake are up. I'm so sick I can't even identify then. They all just stare at me as I walk up to KF, and stand next to him.

   "-As I was saying, you will watch the lake from atop a building, to watch for any suspicious behavior" Batman ends. He looks at me and says, "Robin, I would like to speak with you"

   Everyone goes to the living area. KF hesitates and lookes at me and mouths, 'are you okay?' I smile and give him a thumbs up. He runs over to everyone else, and flops down on the couch. Artemis hits him, probably scolding him about how he could've sat on her.

   I walk to Batman.

   "Why are you here and not at home?" He asks in a whisper.

   "Alfred said it was alright to come here" I whisper back to him.

   "Are you feeling better?" He asks, also in a whisper. He turned into Daddy Bats mode.

   "I'm fine" I lie, saying it louder than I ment to.

   "Alright, I'll give you a debriefing of what your mission is on" He explains the mission to me, in his normal volume.

   We're going to the Blupee Lake (props to anyone who gets this reference) to stake out suspicious behavior from atop a building, a villain who calles himself Spirit has been offering people to the lake, and chanting in an ancient language. We then disperse, and I go to KF.

   KF gets up from the couch and locks our lips together. I push him away and say, "What if Bats is watching?" I really want to say, "What if I get you sick?"

   He laughs. "Oh my little bird" He says, holding me chin. "You shouldn't worry so much" He gives me a quick kiss, then sits back down.

   "Why aren't we going on the mission now?" I ask.

   "M'gann doesn't want her cookies to burn, anymore than they already are" He whispers that last part. I chuckle. "I'm still gonna eat them though" He adds.

   "BEEP!! BEEP!!" The oven beeps, if you couldn't tell.

   "They're done!" M'gann exclaims.

   Wally runs over to the cookies and shoves them on his mouth. He swallows them fast and says, "Come on guys! Let's go on the mission now!"

   We all get up and go on M'gann's ship. While I'm buckling up my seat, my stomach flips. I slightly gag and cover my mouth.

   "Robin?" Aqualad asks.

   "You okay, dude?" Artemis inquires.

   "I'm fine" I reply.

   "He gagged" Superboy says.

   "What?" Wally unbuckles his belt, and zooms over to me. He takes off his glove, and tries to put his hand on my forehead. I slap his hand away.

   "I said I'm fi-" I get into a coughing fit.

   He puts his hand on my forehead and takes it off after a while. "Dude, you're burning. Are you sure you're fine?" Wally asks me, sounding worried.

   I feel like shit. I want to tell him, "No, I'm not fine. I want to vomit and die in peace" But I can't. Mainly because I can't stop coughing. "No, *cough* I'm fin- *cough* fine"

   Wally stares at me with his vibrant green eyes, worry filling his expression. I feel my face get red and I break our eye's connection.

   "So, you're 1,000% sure that you're OK?" He persists. "Like you're perfectly fine, not gonna throw up?"

   I've stopped coughing now. "Y-Yeah" I stammer while looking down.

   "Okay.... " He says skeptically. He puts on his glove, and walks backwards to his seat. He's still staring at me. Out of the corner of my eye I see him sit on the armrest of his seat.

   During the ride Artemis tries to lighten the mood by contemplating what Spirit looks like. I coughed a bit, and my stomach churned. Wally said nothing, and glanced at me a lot.

   "We're almost there!" M'gann exclaims. The ship suddenly stops. We all lurch forward.

   'Don't vomit. Don't vomit. Don't vomit!!!!'

   My stomach is trying to expell everything, but I'm holding it back, gripping my mouth with both hands.

   "We hit a force field, it'll be okay, I'll turn her, and we'll jump onto the building!" M'gann says.

   "Robin? Are you sure-" Aqualad tries to say.

   I gag loudly, and vomit. It seeps through my fingers  and I puke again.

   "ROBIN!" Wally shouts as he scrambles next to me.

   Tears are in my eyes, it feels like I'm being stabbed in the stomach. I shakily take my hands from my mouth. Wally is rubbing my back in circles.

   "Turn around M'gann" He says.

   The ship turns around, heading back towards Mt. Justice.
