LAMARCUS glared at Natalia who sat across him, next to Jonathon. "You're a bitch."
"Hey, I'm a lawyer. I get paid to be a bitch," Natalia scowled, rolling her eyes. She shifted Jaeda on her lap and rested her chin on her head. "What about you? You get paid to question your girlfriend about her every move?"
"I get paid to be super," Kawhi muttered, looking utterly bored as he stared at the table blankly. "What about you guys?"
"I also get paid to shut you up," Natalia rolled her eyes. She turns back to LaMarcus. "Seriously, Marcus. Just let the girl live her life without you asking so many damn questions. You've been together six years."
Adelaide had been avoiding his FaceTime calls and would call him back with a phone call. There was something about her that she didn't want to see — how could LaMarcus just ignore that? Not to mention the fact that she went to bed a lot earlier.
"The road trip will be over soon," Jonathon shrugged. "Just wait til we get back before you go all FBI on the poor girl."
"Yeah, LaMarcus. Don't be so paranoid," Kawhi muttered once again. "She's your girlfriend — not your fucking daughter."
LaMarcus scowled as he looked around at his friends. He furrowed his eyebrows and pushed the plate of fries away from him. "How about y'all be in the relationship instead? Since you know so much."
"I'd make a better boyfriend than you are being right now," Natalia rolled her eyes, starting to pinch the seven year old's cheeks. She looked around at their shocked faces then reached forward to firmly smack her hand down on the table. Bet."
"Don't do it! It's a scam," Kawhi grunted. "If I could get back all the money I lost to her, I'd be able to afford another car."
"But you wouldn't get another car because you love your current one too much," Jonathon sighed.
"Okay, my girlfriend problems, please," LaMarcus says loudly, pointing at himself. "I'm losing my mind trying to figure out how to get her to talk to me about what's wrong. She won't even answer my text messages! Usually, she does."
"Maybe she's just preparing a surprise for you," Kawhi shrugged. "I mean, you've mistaken her for that before..."
"I have a feeling it's different this time." LaMarcus leaned back into his seat with a huff and his lips pouts out into a frown. "What if she wants to break up with me?"
Natalia is the first to answer: "I don't think it's that. Just give her space. She'll come around - trust me. She loves you very much."
SIMAN rolled her eyes back into her head as KYRIE came in the door. "You're late. We have to be at Abelle and Kevin's engagement party in a forty-five and it takes a half hour to get there," Siman sneered, getting up from her spot on the couch. "You still have to get ready!"
"I know, I know," Kyrie muttered, putting his bag down and quickly rushing around the house. "I'm sorry. There was traffic on the way home too."
He runs up the stairs and made his way straight to the bathroom. Siman rolled her eyes and sighed, grabbing his towel hanging from the stairs' railing.
She saunters up the stairs and stood outside the bathroom door. She held the towel out just as the bathroom door opened, revealing Kyrie with only his shorts on.
He takes a step back upon the sight of his girlfriend and hunched his shoulders. "Thank you, baby. You're the best," he grinned, bending down to kiss her forehead. "I'll be ready in like ten minutes. Warm up the car." He closes the door. "Love you."
