Oh, how I wish to be a wolf!
Oh, how I wish to be a wolf!
To have fur all over my body.
To feel the wind in my face
As I run in a four-legged chase
To have a pack of my own,
To have a forest as my home.
To have some cute little pups
That I could lick and snuggle up.
Oh, how I wish to be a wolf!
To have a mate to lick and cuddle.
To have a grand old time while hunting,
And do you-know-what with something.
I would protect the ones I love,
And even those who aren't my blood.
And even if it was against a bear,
Even then, I wouldn't care
But, alas, it cannot be.
Because I'm human, as you can see.
Stuck to a life of work and toil,
That brings my anger to a boil.
Though I may be just a human,
And a social one at that,
I will have that wolf spirit in me,
So when I'm howling, just let me be.
That wolf spirit in me rumbles,
Causing my human self to crumble.
It is only a matter of time,
Before the wolf comes out at its prime.
But for now, I'll keep on going
Using my wolf spirit for good,
I'll be mindful of my enemies,
And protective of my hood.
Oh, how I wish to be a wolf!
And I wish there were more to say,
But my wolf will always be here
It is definitely here to stay.
(So I wrote this during a small frenzy I had a few months back. The day had been interesting, with a lot of moments riling up the wolf spirit in me. So I decided to write this in the moment of passion. It's a bit weird, but it was my first poem I ever made on my own time. So sue me)
