Industrial Design
I just want to make Earth better
But I don't want to copy something down to the letter.
I want to show the world that I'm great
But at the same time, I want to change humanity's fate.
But how does one do this? You may ask,
How does one simply solve this task?
The process is anything but simple,
But fortunately, it will not involve pimples.
First, you have to identify the need,
It may be how to take out some weeds.
But either way, you have to find out
The problem before your hair falls out.
Next, comes the research and analysis,
An interview is probably the best for this.
You gather information, your data, the stuff.
And get it before to going gets rough.
Then, there is the concept ideation,
This is the part for the design creation.
To make it more simple, just sketch out the parts,
Even if they're weird, you've got a good start.
Then, you have constraints and considerations,
You need to find out the limits before any action.
Consider the cost, the amount, all that stuff,
The ergonomics, before you've had enough.
Then comes the model, the small prototype,
So you can really see what it looks like.
And you can find out what to change, what to lose,
Cause if you don't, you'll end up drinking booze.
After that comes the testing, here comes the real thing,
So you can how it works, how it pings.
Once you tested it, go back to refinement,
And fix what went wrong, before it goes into development.
Once you do that, you're ready to go!
Put the product out there, watch the whole income flow.
And if people don't like it, don't worry, don't cry.
You've gotta get up and try, try, try.
I just want to make something better.
But I can't copy things down to the letter.
I I follow this job, I'll make sure to be happy,
With a positive attitude, I'll work faster than the Grand Prix.
(I made this during a presentation in my class in September of 2016. Some guest speakers from the Industrial Design field came in and talked to my class about what they do. I thought it would be a good idea to write about what they talked about. I showed it to them, and they put it on their website, making me so embarrassed. Luckily, it got positive feedback, which made me feel even more embarrassed.)
