"We found it!!!" I squealed in happiness.

An even louder scream followed as I was joined by my younger sister, Joy. Funnily enough, we started doing a happy dance. "We did it, we did it, we did it!"

"I feel so much JOY right now!" My sister stopped dancing and rolled her eyes at my lame pun. Of course, she couldn't help but counter... "I'm GLAD you feel that way!" We both burst into laughter...

Oh my gosh. I'm sooo sorry! I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Gladys Riverdale! I'm 15 years old. Our parents were so happy when we were born, they named us after their feelings. That's what we like to think anyway. Just kidding... They told us, so it's probably true... I hope... :) My sister, Joy Riverdale, is 14 years old.

We had come on an expedition to find the' Wishing Stone.' We knew that if it wasn't real, we would return empty handed. But someone once said, "An adventure with a goal that wasn't fulfilled, would have been an adventure nonetheless." That person is my role model and inspires me! I love her quote! Anyway, as legends (and its name) say, the 'Wishing Stone' grants wishes. I know what you're thinking... "Good luck with that!" But everyone said that it was a legend, and we did find it, so... It's worth a try!

"Go on Glad, make a wish!" Joy looked at me expectantly. I picked up the blue, pebble-shaped stone from its pedestal and sat on one of the rocks nearby. I closed my eyes and thought for a moment what I wanted to wish for. I realized that I had come to find the 'Wishing Stone' without any wishes that I wanted to be fulfilled. We had just come to find it, because of the story behind it and the thrill of adventure. My life seemed perfect enough and for every wish I thought of, I always had a reason not to wish for it. I had watched tons of movies where the person gets like a # of wishes and their wishes don't go according to plan. And if I was selfless and made a wish like that, who knows how many lives it would affect, in a bad way?

" You done yet?" I heard Joy whisper. "No, Joy! Wait!" I thought for a while and peeked open one of my eyes. Joy was staring right at me trying to sit still. She already seemed to have a wish in mind. "You finished?" she asked. "I don't exactly know what to wish for," I confessed. "Really?" She inspected my face carefully, to see if I was kidding, " You could really wish for anything, you know? Fame..."

"If I was famous I would want to earn that right..." I countered.

     "Wealth..."

I sighed, "Family is all the wealth I need. Why do we need to be rich, when we already get everything we want?" She was getting more impatient.

"A new car, house, new jewelry... There are so many things." I thought for a moment. Joy muttered under her breath (loud enough so I could hear). "If you don't have anything to wish for, at least let me make a wish!" I blinked at her bluntness. "Could you be more mean and impatient and say what you want to say louder?" I get annoyed easily at my sister, but what I didn't expect was when Joy jumped from her seat, briskly walked toward me and said through gritted teeth, "Give it to me" The truth came crashing down on me, that I had said that while holding the stone. I guess nowadays, you don't need to say "I wish..." before you make a wish. My sister had become more impatient, meaner and definitely voiced her thoughts loud and clear.

"I take it back!" I screamed louder than I meant to. I don't think it worked, 'cause Joy pulled the stone from my hand. And the Wishing Stone, being as shiny and slick as it was, slipped from Joy's hand and simply shattered... I stared at our hard work, gone to dogs. We..... No, SHE had destroyed a priceless artifact. I ran to pick up the pieces of the stone, trying to put it together. My sister stood behind me, her face distraught and said something I least expected, "This is all your fault!" I spun around and glared at her.

My brain switched to rage mode... "WHAT did you say? How is this my fault? You're not happy with your life. Well, guess what? I am. If you had any sense, you would've taken this stone to a safe place and left it, instead of trying to be greedy and pulling it from me! You're a disgrace to our family! I wish you weren't my sister, Joy!!!" It's funny what sisters fight about and how often they blame each other. We would've soon forgotten what we were fighting about anyway.

I regretted the sentence as soon as I said it, though. I noticed the stone pieces in my hand start glowing and warm up. I shrieked, dropping them. The 'Wishing Stone' pieced itself together and landed on top of its pedestal majestically. The cave filled with a blinding light. The last thing I remember is Joy, with a hurt look, regret written on her face, screaming my name, as she disappeared and I was sucked into the light.
