Just two of us

New Guy

  It was the first class of the day, math with Mr.Smith. I never really liked school but I tried to get good grades at least. The bell suddenly ranged making me snap out of my trance.
  Everyone esle was still talking or on their phones. I was non-social not because I had a problem but beacuse people sometimes annoy me and other reasons. Mr.Smith walked in and then the whole class turned silent. I didn't bother to look up or anything. I bet it wasn't that important.
   "Today, class, we will be having a new student, Joseph Parker. Mr.Parker you may choose your seat."
   "Thank you, sir."
  No one sits besides me beacuse I would scowl, say a snarky thing or flip them off. There were three open seats one by me (no way in history will he be sitting by me) another one by Cathy Ried, who is not that bad but talks on and on and on or by Derek Tray who sleeps alot in all classes.
  He looks around the room and stares directly at me and walks over. He places his backpack on the desk and asks,"Is this spot taken?"
  I look at him speechless and then out of nowhere I say,"Yeah, by your dead grandmother."
  He looks at me then says ,"I'll take that as a no since my grannie isn't dead. Am I right?"
I just flipped him off and he laughed like it was cute and stuff.Who did this guy think he was???
  I turned to look at him.He had grey blue eyes and soft looking hair.His lips were so-
Waaait!!?!Whaaaatt.He made me feel different like I could be myself instead of this person I made up.I was in my own world until Mr.Smith inturrupted my thoughts.
  "Care to tell the class why you are not answering my question,Ms.Blake?
  "No, beacuse if I did then I would have said it out loud already, right?"
  "Very well just tell me the answer to promblem five."
  I wasn't paying attention so I didn't know.I was about to say a crazy answer when Joseph whispered, "fifteen x"
  He looked smart enough (not a compliment) so I said his answer and Mr.Smith wrote it on the board.
"Thank you, Ms.Blake.Also you too, Mr.Parker."
  Then the bell rang.
