Being a parent is not as easy as anyone would imagine it, neither is being a child. A child's life depends on the environment that they have been put in. Somewhere in the world, a child might be experiencing a slight depression, a certain illness, a break-up, etcetera.
But what runs through the mind of a child is not so hard to decipher when they are at a young age due to the urge, to be honest vested within them but, when they reach a certain age or a certain experience in their life, they tend to keep things away from their loved ones and hide everything they thought that they could share.
They learn in the most unexpected ways and they learn to adapt to their environments but their feelings, might not agree. A child does show their emotions when in the most uncontrollable states but mostly tries to contain it deep within. Whether they show it through tears, anger or sudden acts of gratefulness.
Being a parent, we want the best for our children, but not everything we thought was the best for our child has always been the best. Who would want to be controlled by their parents all the time? Kids hate to be tied down.
Especially Alexis. Alexis Brooks, a half American and half British 14 year old with long golden locks, sea green eyes, tanned skin and plump pink lips. Alexis has always been a rebellious kid ever since the age of 5. She hated being tied down to everything by rules or her parents. She never liked her life even though life for her was like riches. She had everything. She had the looks that her peers envy, her father was a very successful businessman and her mother was a lawyer.
Perfection in this family was never far from off. Her mother, Sara Brooks, lived in California, USA, throughout her childhood and her father, Liam Brooks, lived in Sheffield, England then moved to California due to his father gaining a job opportunity there.
Alexis's parents were high school sweethearts, that's what she was told, but yet they were very touchy with the subject of love. Of course they loved their daughter, but love for another human that did not acquire the same name as them, was a really hard subject to deal with. They're very aware of their daughter's complexion.
Alexis had all the newest clothes, the newest cell phones and everything that money could buy. But, Alexis had undergone a few aspects of life that she could call, life changing. 'Alexis', her mother called for her. Sara had always been careful with who she keeps around Alexis.
About this time, Alexis was currently in her room listening to 'Ghost Of You' by My Chemical Romance whilst doing her homework. For being such a rebellious student, Alexis was a straight A* student. Perfection had run through her family bloodline, which initially, she adapted to.
'Alexis' her mother called, yet again, this time raising her voice slightly. 'Alexis!' She called again, but yet, to no avail, there was not an answer provided. She walked up the stairs and knocked on the door that separated both her and her daughter. She knocked and knocked until finally, Alexis came out and looked at her mother questioningly.
'Alexis' her mother started, 'I will be going out to the grocery store to buy a few groceries that our fridge needs. Would you mind and stay here for quite some time? Do you want some friends over or would you like Aunt Macy?' she asked this question calmly, knowing that she might be upset if Alexis got angry.
'Can I have Lisa and Jasmine over?' she asked, hope filling her eyes, 'Sure, sweetie' Sara went to turn and walk away until Alexis asked, 'Is Alex home?' she said it with such desperation that her mother felt as if she wanted to cry. Sara fell silent and looked about, thinking what on earth to say to her daughter.
In turn, Alexis got the hint and left to go back to her room whilst telling her mother to cancel the play date with Lisa and Jasmine. Sara inhaled a sharp breath and went downstairs to grab her purse and car keys. She stepped out of the house and walked to her bright red mini cooper.
Liam's military green Aston Martin DB8 had not yet arrived back from his office. She had thought to grab a few things to make her famous Japanese chicken katsu curry and her family recipe of shepherd's pie that she always made for Alexis when she was younger to cheer her up. She just hoped that this would be enough to cheer her up.
