I'm going to tell you a stor about the street where the 4 houses stood, it was dimly lit. The bulbs in the street lights really needed to be changed but nobody ever did it. So instead of lighting up the dark street like they were meant to they just cast terrifying ghostly shadows along the road. It truly set a terrifying scene for a truly terrible place.
The first house belonged to an old woman by the name of Mrs. A. She was a papery old woman that looked to be about a hundred years old. Her voice was shrill and the first thing that camed to mind when describing was nails on a chalkboard. The old woman's house was once a pale blue but overtime had grown so dirty is looked almost brown. Disgusting. She almost never left her house leaving her young granddaughter Ruby to do things for her. Nobody had been inside her house...ever. Not even the girl. But a pizza delivery boy had gotten a pretty good whiff of the place once while delivering to the home. He'd describe it to anyone that would listen as a horrid mixture of some sort of old corpse mixed with rotting food. Basically, it was a pertty ugly scent. After a while authorities decided they may as well check on the old woman to make sure her house was still in good condition. But when they got to the house there was no answer. Getting a bit worried the police decided to pry open the door...only to make a horrifying discovery. Bags of food were laying uneaten and rotten on the floor, furniture was splattered with blood, the entire house was suddenly a giant crime scene...But in the middle of it sat a rotting corpse of a frail old woman laying next to the corpse of a young man, his eyes poked out and his body already almost completely rotten. His skeleton was visible through the little skin he still had. After examination the bodies were identified as Mrs. A and her husband who had died an unfortunate death at a young age, to add to the tragedy his body had been stolen a day before his funeral. Nobody ever knew what had happened in that old house and honestly nobody wanted to know...but this was the tragedy of the first house.
The second house was better taken care of than the first but not by much. The front door had a knack of sticking open a bit making it an easy target for robberies...but nobody would ever rob it. The place was too terrifying. Robert Bakers owned the place though he was hardly ever around. He was always out on business, leaving his poor bedridden wife Kaitlyn suffering from a mysterious fatal illness completely alone in the old house. Well at least ... he used to. One day he came home to find Kaitlyn long dead on the couch, flesh already beginning to rot off her body, mice already nibbling at her feet. It was such a disgusting scene but what made it ever more disturbing was the fact that Kaitlyn had been alive only that morning. Further examination of the corpse showed that her neck at been broken, this had been murder. To this day nobody knows what happened to her. But this is the tragedy of the second house.
The third house was abandoned. Nobody could remember anybody ever living there. Kids had made it a game to sneak inside in the dead of night...It was all fun and games until young Talia Creak decided to play inside. With a cellphone recording her last hour of life Talia snuck around the house with a flashlight, jumping at every small noise. It wasn't until she heard a rather loud bang that Talia found herself truly spooked as she decided to try to exit. But by then it was far too late. The cellphone camera began to go dim and the last thing heard was Talia screaming and a small voice whispering "Come play..." The next morning her body was found ripped into pieces and burnt. No other fingerprints or DNA were ever found leaving the case cold. But this was too be expected, this was the tragedy of the third house.
The fourth house was perfect, completely perfect. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the fourth house at all. It belonged to a lovely young couple and their kindergarten age daugher Lucy Dejardins. But if you looked a bit closer into that lovely young family you'd find something...not quite right. Lucy was lonely. Very lonely. Mommy and Daddy never payed attention to her. They never had time for her.
I just want them to notice me Lucy had thought I wish I could come up with a good idea to make them notice me.
It hadn't been until a late night horror movie she had noticed when she snuck downstairs for a midnight snack. Apparently her father had been watching it and had fallen asleep at the last few minutes of it. Lucy liked this movie, everyone seemed to pay attention to the killer. It was then that Lucy's eyes lit up and her face changed into a twisted grin. She knew exactly how to make Mommy and Daddy notice her now. She carefully walked out of the house careful not to bother anybody and went to Mrs. A's house with a large butcher knife. She knocked on the door and was immediatly greeted with the scent of death Mrs. A's house was so famous for. She smiled sweetly at the still living lady.
"Mommy and Daddy are going to notice me now" she said "And you're going to help me"
With that she did just as she had seen in the movie, she plunged to knife into the old woman's stomach and twisted. She fell to the floor in a pool of blood, dead. Lucy smiled. Mommy and Daddy wouldn't ignore her now. If they did she would just do it again...and again...and again...
Lucy liked that idea very much.
But little did the young girl know, Mrs. A...well she was a spirit now. An evil one. She'd do anything to avenge herself. She'd tweak the murders. Make them more evil. Lucy saw this of course and was...maybe a bit more terrified than she should have been. She was a monster...Lucy Dejardins was the tragedy of the 4 houses.
An it was that young girl's mistake that I am telling you...because that mistake is very important to me. You see, if that mistake had not been made, I, Lucy Dejardins, wouldn't be sitting in a padded cell completely alone and isolated from humanity. But that's okay. I have 3 friends to keep me company you know. Mrs. A, Mrs. B and Ms. C. I am so very happy for the tragedy on my street. It brought me so much joy...so much pain.
"Come play with me again" I whispered into the darkness of the cell "I want Mommy and Daddy to notice me"
