It has been two years since the Phantomhive estate burned to the ground. My injuries have healed fully with the exception of several burns on my arms and legs from when I shielded the young master from the flames. There was no permanent damage to my spine nor any of my bones. The doctors said it was a miracle I was not bed ridden for the rest of my life. After my injuries were healed and the doctors said I could go home, Baroness Angelina Dalles, often called Madam Red, and aunt to Lord Ciel Phantomhive, took me into her home and treated me like family. Just as the Phantomhive's had.

I was doing my daily chores when I heard the door bell ring. I didn't know Lady Dalles was expecting company. She did not mention anything to me about it.

"Don't worry Elena dear, I've got the door." I heard Madam Red call.

I heard the door open. There was a pause and suddenly a loud scream. I ran to the door, knife in hand, thinking the Baroness was in trouble. When I entered the entrance hall and took in the scene, I froze, dropping the knife instantly.

Standing in the door way was a dark haired boy twelve years of age with a bright blue eye and the other eye covered by an eyepatch. His expression was different and his whole aura had darkened. But I knew this was my young master. I knew this was my Ciel.

His eyes shifted to me when he heard the knife hit the floor. His eyes widened when he recognized my face. His warm stare was enough to melt my frozen body. I flung myself at the small boy who had drastically changed. I wrapped my arms around the boy who did not appear to be injured except for the eyepatch. I held onto the boy whom I feared was dead but is still alive. And I cried. I cried with happiness and love for this small boy. I cried for joy at this boys return.

"Ciel. My dear sweet Ciel. You have returned at last." I sighed as I composed myself.

"Ella..." I heard the sweetest voice I longed to hear speak the name I missed so much.

I released the small boy in my arms and gazed at his face once more. I gently placed my hands on the sides of his face and smiled. He was real. He was real and he was here, right in front of me. I smiled the first true smile that had graced my lips in two years.

Not being able to help myself, I lightly placed my lips on his forehead like I did so many times before I left the young child to his dreams. Ciel placed his hands over mine and gazed into my eyes.

"Ella....I thought for sure you were dead..... Your body was so horribly broken.... And those people....I thought for sure they were going to kill you."

"My precious young lord...they did not touch me. They left me be after they grabbed you. And even if they did, I would not dare disobey a direct order from my young lord."

Confusion swept over his features.

"You ordered me not to die, my young lord. On that day so long ago, those were my last orders from you. What kind of Phantomhive servant would I be, if I could not follow an order as simple as that?" I smiled again. It felt so good to smile after so long.

"Right. Well....I'm glad you were able to follow my orders, Ella. Now, may I introduce someone to you?" My lord said.

"Of course, Lord Phantomhive."

"Very well. Ella, this," he indicated to the man behind him. Was he there the whole time? "Is Sebastian Michaelis. He is my new butler."

I straightened myself and looked at the man behind my young lord. He was very tall and slender. He had soft black hair that flowed smoothly around his face. His features were soft, but at the same time sharp. If this man chose to be, he could become very scary. My gaze then shifted to his eyes and I gasped. They were the most striking color of crimson. A very odd and unusual eye color. I guess we have that in common. My eyes are an unusual color as well. The color of a bright, fiery violet.

"Sebastian, this is...."

"Elena Butler." I introduced myself and bowed slightly. "It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." I continued as my eyes met his again.

A strange buzzing vibration flowed over my skin as our eyes stayed locked onto each other. My body shivered as it raced down my spine and back up. Sebastian's eyes grew brighter, more intense, as a smile spread across his lips. Then, just as quickly as it happened, the bright intensity was gone again. But his smile remained upon his face. It was a sweet smile. But, oddly enough, it seemed forced.

Sebastian swept one hand over his chest and bowed to me, his eyes never leaving mine.

"On the contrary, my dear lady, the pleasure is all mine." His smooth voice circled around me like a soft, warm blanket on a cold winters night. I felt my face flush for no reason at all. Composing myself, I turned my attention back to my young lord. " Now, my lord, how long have you been back in London?"

"I have been back for a month now. I was staying at the Phantomhive town house while I had the manor being rebuilt."

"What?? You have been back for a month and only just now came to see me??" The Baroness demanded.

"Well, yes. I only came today to retrieve what belongs to me." Ciel's eyes turned to me. "Construction on the manor is completed, and has been erected back to its former glory. It is an almost exact replica of the original structure. The only thing that is missing is....you. Ella, I came to ask you if you would like to come back to the manor with me and serve me as you once did so long ago."

I answered without hesitation. "Of course, my lord Phantomhive. My rightful place is, and shall always be, by your side."

I saw the ghost of a smile grace the young lords lips. "Very well. We shall be going then."

"In a moment, my young lord. There are a few things I must retrieve from my quarters."

"Alright. But make it quick. I would like to go home." Home. What a wonderful word. One that fills me up with warmth.

"Yes, my lord."

I hastily made my way to my room. I walked right past the closet and all of my clothes. I went straight for the medium sized dark mahogany wood jewelry box that rested on the bed side table. In some places, the box was blackened and chard from where the fire licked at it. It had intricate vine work and leaves all around the surface. And inside was a bright purple velvet lining to protect its contents. I gently grabbed the box and nothing else.

When I returned to the entrance hall, Ciel eyed the box in my hands curiously. Upon further inspection, he recognized its intricate beauty.

"Ella...is that...?"

"Yes, my lord. It is your mothers jewelry box. This, and the contents inside, rightfully belong to you."

I handed the box over to my master and watched as he slowly opened the lid. Inside the box rested an assortment of gold and silver jewelry. There were two silver rings adorned with diamonds I recognized as the late lord and lady Phantomhive's wedding rings. And two more pieces of silver jewelry stood out from the rest. One was a ring, and the other, a necklace. Both beautiful and exquisitely designed. And both fitted with rather large and extremely rare blue diamonds. They were the heirlooms of the Phantomhive family, passed down to each head of the family and gifted to their spouse through many generations.

I watched the young Earl's expression fill with delight and untold sadness. He, along with everyone else, believed these heirlooms were lost forever.

"How? How did you manage to find them and save them?"

"Tanaka found the box and everything in it after the fire burnt out. It was hidden under a lot of rubble, which, incidentally, protected it from the flames. He gave it to me, knowing our families history, and knowing it will be safe with me for when you returned."

"When I returned?" Ciel questioned.

"Yes, my lord. We never gave up hope. We never once believed you had left this world. I would have known. I would have felt it." I smiled.

"Thank you, Ella." Before he closed the jewelry box, Ciel slipped the blue diamond ring onto the only finger it would fit on: his thumb.

The jewel shined brightly as the light hit its surface. And we left.
