An ordinary day started. I woke up, got myself ready, brushed my teeth and went directly to the coffee shop.

"Hi" I said to the cashier.
"Your usual coffee and donut? " she smiled at me.
" Yes, please." I smiled back.
"That would be 55" she said

I sat down on my favorite spot, beside the wall. I plugged my earphones in and played Everything by Michael Bublé. I took my book and start to read.

I must've wandered into my imagination because I didn't notice someone was talking to me until a hand waved in front of me. When I looked up, my heart skipped a million seconds of beat. Just kidding. But seriously, my heart is beating so fast, I can feel it. It was him. Him that I always picture with a boy's character in a love story book I read. Him that i dreamed of being in a relationship with.
"Is this sit taken?" his voice. Ugh
"No" I said in almost a whisper.
"so, can I sit here?" He asked
"Sure" not looking into his eyes.

He drank his iced cold coffee and scrolled through his phone. I can't focus on reading my book so I decided to get my phone and stopped playing music. I scrolled through my social media.

"Do you always come here? " he asked.
" Uhm, yeah. Everyday since I got here" I answered shyly and continued scrolling on my phone.
"Oh, I see. "

A MOMENT OF SILENCE
Not an awkward one

"I better go now, see you tomorrow." He patted my head lightly.

I felt my cheeks burning up.

"Yeah, sure. " I smiled.

I went to work with a big smile on my face.

The next day, I woke up earlier than my alarm clock. I'm so excited to go to the coffee shop so I prepared quickly and went to the shop.

As I entered, the sweet aroma invaded my nose and inhaled deeply.

I noticed there's a coffee , donut, and a note on the table of my usual spot.

"Hi, sorry can't be with you today.
I have to leave for work. Hope this coffee and donut will make it up to you. See you soon. x"

He's leaving this soon? Perks of loving a pilot. Oops.

I drank my coffee and ate my donut happily.

I went straight to work immediately.

6 months later...

As I was about to eat my donut, a pair of hands covered my eyes.

***Heart beats fast***
"Guess who" It's him.
"Stop goofing around" I laughed

He sat down across me.

"How you doin?" He asked while running his fingers through his hair. Ugh, I wish I could do that to him.

"I'm good. You? Wait, when did you come back? " I asked.

" Last night. I'm still really tired right now" He rested his head on the table.

"You should've stayed home and rest instead of coming here" I smiled.

"Nope. I need to see you". He stared deeply into my eyes and smiled brightly showing off his beautiful teeth.

"Oh." was all I could say. I was enchanted watching his handsome face.

"When will you leave again?" I asked as I bit a piece if my donut.

"Why? You dont want to see me?" He said in a hurt acting tone.
"No, of course. Just asking" I rolled my eyes.

He cleared his throat "Tuesday"
"So fast?" I said and my smile faded. That's two days away.

"I need to. It's my schedule"
"Okay"
"I have to go, I'm late for work" I said standing up
"Okay, see you soon" he hugged me.

I can feel the joy inside of me. Butterflies came alive. Fireworks exploded in my heart. All I see is rainbows.

"Sure" in my brightest smile. Ohgod

I went straight to work. Still can't stop smiling.

Tuesday. I woke up expecting there will be a note, coffee, and a donut on my table again.

I kept all his notes he left on the coffee shop for 6 months, everyday. Thanks to the waitress who was his friend.

I went to the coffee shop happily. I saw my table without any coffee, donut, or even a note. My happiness drained. I ordered my usual. Every single day, I was waiting that there will be a note, coffee, and a donut on my table or just him waiting for me on the coffee shop. I miss him so badly.

Days passed and still not a sign of him. But there's a rose gold envelope embroidered with a pale pink ribbon, coffee and a donut. My emotions come alive again and I quickly went to my table.

I picked up the envelope and I carefully opened it.

My heart fell and broke into tiny pieces as I read what's inside. It was his Wedding Invitation.

I didn't know that I was crying until I tasted it.

My fairytale with him ended just like that. All those days I was thinking he liked me too. From the very first time he talked to me and we became friends. I was expecting nothing.

This was it. My prince was at the other castle with his princess.
