The Gangster And Nerd

The Nerd and Gangster

               It was a cold day at school.  Nep was out with his friends but he noticed that his friend Arty was missing.  He volenteered to go find him and saw him running down the hall.  Nep quickly followed him and saw that he was chasing what appeared to be a nerd.  He joined in with the chase still not sure who it was.  Once he got a good glimpse of the nerd he saw that it was a girl and not any girl it was Lucy.  Lucy was smart, kind and forgiving.  Nep secretly liked her and instantly pushed Arty out of the way.  He helped Lucy up.  She had no idea how to react.  He was a gangster and she was a nerd how should she react?  Screaming in terror or thank him for his kindness?  She started to move her lips to thank him when her boyfriend came and ran to her.  Now Nep couldn't punch Lucy but he was willing to punch her boyfriend Gray.  He didn't.  At the sight of her he knew he couldn't let her go and be with someone else.  He needed to get on her good side but how?
               Later that same day he saw her walking home alone.  Gray needed to stay at school to work so it was just them.  Sure a few hundred feet away but is was all good.  He wanted to talk to her, but was a scared.  Slowly he put one foot in front of the other and started edging closer.  Lucy had noticed this and looked at him.  Instead of running or shouting like she normally would she said "Hello Nep."  Here was the thing about Lucy she didn't like her boyfriend Gray.  She thought he was mean and inconsiderate.  Sure he was smart, but Nep was kind deep inside, Lucy sold see it.  She kinda liked Nep but what would he think?  She needed to get on his goodside.  There they stood looking into each others eyes.  Then Nep replied,"Hello Lucy."
