"OW!" I cried as Charlotte, my best friend since 4th grade, brushed my blond-ish hair.

"Just stand still for a minute!" She yelled back as she was trying to undo the knots in my hair.

Tonight was the school's valentines day dance. I was so nervous for it. My best guy friend, David, on who I had a crush on for the longest time, asked me to it. I remember exactly how he did it :

"Hey Skye!" He called out.

"Yeah?"

"Wanna come over tonight? You know, play video games and stuff?"

"Sure, I'll come at four."

I go over to his house practically everyday. This was normal for me. Nothing different, or so I thought.

As I step into his house, I heard music playing, but it was really low. Rose petals were  on the wooden floors. I looked up and saw him. He was wearing a button up shirt with nice black pants. I think this was the handsomest I ever saw him look. David had two tickets in his hands.

"Skye, will you go to the valentines dance with me?"

I ran up to him and hugged him really tightly. His eyes widened, showing I caught him off guard.

"Of course I will! And why did you go through all this trouble just for this? You could've just asked me!"

" I know, but i wanted to make it special."

So here I was now, sitting on my bed, with Charlotte sticking a brush through my hair.  I almost regretted this. Almost, if it wasn't for David.

"You know, I always knew you two would end up together. I was so obvious!"

"We are not together! He just asked me to the dance. And plus, he probably doesn't like me anyway. We're just friends"

"Ummm.....YES HE DOSE! I can see it in his eyes. The way he looks at you. It's so romantic!" Charlotte said in an INCREDIBLY mushy-girly voice.

"Could you stop with the whole me and David thing?" I asked, getting frustrated.

"Sorry, I'm just really exited for you"

"How many times do I have to tell you..." I started, but Charlotte cut me

"...'we are not together'. I know that, but you will be after tonight!" she winked at me.

" ...I wish."I finally admitted. "Like I told you, he probably doesn't like me anyways, so it doesn't matter."

"Wishes come true, if you believe in them." Charlotte said in a almost dreaming voice.

 "You think so?"

 "I know so. "

My dress was cute, but very simple. It was a short, one shoulder, bright red dress. To 'electrify it', as Charlotte likes to say, she gave me heart earrings and a silver necklace. The theme for the night was red and pink, for valentines day.

Charlotte's dress, well lets put it this way, really fluffy, short, pink. I would never wear that dress in my life, but Charlotte likes to make statements, and well, I think its going work tonight. She was going with Cole, our other best friend.

He was more of the outgoing type. Always making jokes, pretty much like a boy  version of Charlotte. He's really nice. Dark blond hair. Blue eyes. Your typical football player. But he played soccer. He was like a brother to me. I could talk to him about anything.

David though, he was, well, perfect. For me anyways. Shy, but not anti-sociable. He had a lot of friends. He's also EXTREMELY cute. When he smiles, you can see a dimple on his left cheek. He finds it embarrassing, but I think its really cute. Me and Char met them in Freshman year. We had to do a class project, and the teams had to be mixed, so we ended up with them. Kind of cliche, I know. But, it was like we instantly clicked. All of us. We learned a lot about each other, that we had in common. Me and Char both love music. David plays drums . Me and Cole both love the color green. Charlotte and Cole both hate taking the subway. Me and David both love cookies and cream ice cream. And now, Senior year, and we are still the best of friends. We have a pretty weird group. Cole is captain of the soccer team, I am a guitarist and aspiring signer. Charlotte is the girly one. And David is like the special, normal one of us all.

But this was our senior year. And I would miss all of them. Even if we were all going to the same college, I felt things were going to change.

"Ok, I think you're all set. The boys are picking us up at 8." Charlotte said to me as we both exited the bathroom.

"I'm so exited for tonight!" I squealed as I looked at myself in the mirror.

Now, we've moved from the Cole and David conversation to the Nick Evers conversation. He was a famous actor. Nick played in Come aboard! Which is a show about a teen, who's dad is a boat captain and goes around the world and meets new people. It's pretty good, for 8-12 year old.

I find it kind of cheesy though. Over-used jokes, completed with fake laughter. Your typical Disney show.

I have to admit, Nick was pretty handsome. All the young girls swooned over him. You heard about the Bieber Fever? Well this is like, the Nick epidemic. I do not care if this dosen't rhyme. But its true. Some girls fainted when he looked at them. It's crazy.

"He"s my future husband. " Charlotte said confidently.

"Yeah sure. What ever floats your boat."

Just then, we heard the doorbell ring.

Butterflies were swarming in my stomach.

I got up from the couch and made my way to the door.
