The Disguise (prologue)
It's 4:00 in the afternoon. At this time the typical 17 year old is heading home after a long day of classes. She'll probably grab something to eat, take a nap, or start homework. However, I Sienna Fox, am headed to my office in the city's News Headquarters.
"Hey cupcake how are you?" The middle aged secretary Lynn greeted me with a smile, handing me my portfolio.
"Unfortunately, I've had better days. And yourself?" I responded, securing the large envelope under my arm.
"I'm fine darling, but sorry to hear that. What's wrong?" she asked, with an expression of motherly concern on her face.
"Everything is wrong! I haven't been able to come up with a story for over a week. Local headlines are running dry."
"You'll come up with something eventually. You're a smart girl, don't give up!"
"Thank you Lynn, you're so helpful," I lied. She smiled and resumed her computer work.

I flicked the light on in my office, and sighed walking over to my desk and slumping down in my chair. I powered my laptop and started my usual routine of scrolling through local news reports, trying to find something interesting and worth writing about. Hm, nothing as usual.
Just then someone barged through the door and I looked up to see Larry, who served as my mentor when I first landed this position. He was also a popular columnist and reporter, but I didn't appreciate him throwing doors open as he pleased.
"Larry. God gave us knuckles to knock on doors. Use them sometime, kay?"
He just laughed and handed me a coffee. Larry is 28 years old, and is my best friend at work besides Miriam and Daphne, the twins.
"What's new, kiddo?" He asked, sitting on my freshly polished mahogany desk.
"Nothing is new. Nothing at all. My career is slipping through my fingers, because I can't even come up with a stinking story. I've looked everywhere!" I groaned
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, take it easy kid. If you want a story, you can't look for one, you have to let it come to you."
"And how is that going to happen? I have deadlines, you know! I only got one week to at least come up with a topic or else I lose my next spot in the paper. I have never, ever missed a spot in the paper, Larry!"
"Alright, alright calm down. I'm going to help you out, and give you my story, but only under one condition."
"Oh Larry, I can't take your story it's your-
"Do you want my help or not?" He scolded, and I shut up. "Well what's the condition?" I asked.
"I give you my headline but you have to do all the research and prep, with no aid, got it?"
"Yes, thank you so so much. What's the headline?"
"There's rumors of a drug solliciting scandal in that preppy boy's boarding school Glenwood Academy. You ever heard of that place?"
I nodded quickly. Who hadn't heard of Glenwood? Only super smart and super rich guys attended that school, and there was almost always something going on over there. But I've only ever heard of good things: victories in sports and competitions, records in races and olympiads, etc. A lot of famous people sent their sons there. And to think that there is a possible drug solliciting scandal?! Unheard of.
"I'll take it." I said, not even thinking twice about what I was jumping into. All I knew was that a beautiful spot on the paper was waiting for me and my story. And I would get that story even if it killed me.
"Don't let me down, kiddo. And call me if you have any questions." Larry said, strolling out the door.
"Will do," I responded, already on the internet, researching the school and any possible connection to the rumor I could find. Barely anything! I thought. Wow that place is secretive. That's all right, I like secrets. It makes the game more fun.
I spent the rest of the night planning and strategizing how I could attack the story, with the very limited resources I could find online. It kept me up at night as I tossed and turned, unable to rest until I had a solution.
After a while, I realized that the only way I will ever receive any information is if I get my sources directly and in person. And since I don't know anyone from the school personally....
I have to find a way into Glenwood Academy.
