Fallen Angel

The first time ever I saw your face, you were like my guardian angel sent down to watch over me,
You made me feel special, you made me feel loved, you made me feel free.
I remember you with smiles and laughter but tears do spill.
The thing that killed you the most was  the poison pill.

Three years ago you started playing drums in Heaven,
When I started watching you, I was only seven.
You caught me at 'Don't Stop Believing',
But now I'm left constantly grieving.

You left the Earth too soon,
Your love for us spreads to the moon.
Now you roam with the stars,
Enough talent to stretch to Mars.

In the City of Angels, you were our Quarterback,
Without you here, I have panic attacks.
I wanted to say hello but I'm left with goodbye,
And all I want to do now is cry.

You're the fallen hero that haunts my thoughts,
You filled the missing spot.
I'm empty, I'm happy, I'm lost,
Who knew your life would be the cost?

They sent you away with the words of a love song,
I'm trying to be brave, I'm trying to be strong.
Protect me from danger, bring back my hope.
My emotions are walking on a loose tightrope.

You shined the light in the darkest places,
And put smiles on all of our faces,
But in the end,
I know I will slowly mend.

When I see you smile,
It makes my life worth while.
You were my Canadian, her person,
We all love you through every season.

You were made a rainbow to sing to me,
Even now because of you, my life is full of Glee.
