Megans birthday was the 13th November, which happened to fall on a Friday this year. We, Laura, Nikola, Emily, Gemma, Lisa and I decided we really wanted to throw Megan a massive birthday weekend, but we wanted to go away somewhere so we decided to make it into a week instead of a weekend. A week away, just us girls! It was going to be great. We had been saving up for this week since we were 15 so we all had £140 each. this was perfect. we decided to rent this old house in Hastings. We bought tons of decorations and we decided to make a den in the biggest room in the house, the lounge. In the lounge there was a massive window, a organ, a huge fireplace and 3 sofas. Perfect for a den. we grabbed 6 duvets and placed them on the floor, then 20 blankets. We put lots of cushions around and lit the fire. Megan was going to arrive tomorrow so we had to make the house perfect for her arrival because she was the last to turn 16, so it was a big week!
The next morning
We were up bright and early (7am). We were up in our shared bedroom upstairs when we heard a noise coming from the kitchen. One by one we walked down the stairway, step by step trying to be as quiet as possible. I was at the front, followed closely by Laura then Lisa then Emily then Gemma then Nikola. I saw someone standing in the doorway to the kitchen. I ftoze suddenly, causing the girls to thud into eachother. I told them to stay there and I ran down the steps and jumped onto the stranger. She screamed. The girls came runmimg down the stairs. It took me a while to realise who it was due to the darkness but then it struck me, "JESS!".
We were in the kitchen. We all were drinking tea, except for Laura -she prefered her coffee shots. "How come you were late Jess?" Laura asked,
"I was up at the stables!" Jess replied,
"Ahh yes, I remember now you said you'd be there the morning after we arrived." Nikola said. And so we had 3 hours left before Megan came (at 11am). We began blowing up balloons and putting the cake on the kitchen table. It was now 10am and everything was perfect! Megan texted me to tell me she was on her way.
The Party
"Happy Birthday!!!!" we shouted in unison. Megan was delighted
"Omg!!!!!! Is this a birthday party?!" she asked,
"No!" lisa shouted,
"This is a Birthweek party!!!!" I scream. Emilg turned up the music full volume and dimmed the lights, we all started dancing and having fun. An hour or so later the dancing stopped, we brightened the lights. "Should we just sit and talk now in our pjs?!" nikola suggested,
"Yea! Sounds like a plan!" Frankie replied. We all went into the other room, sat on the duvets in a circle and had a nice chat.
"So Nikola, whos your match!?" asked franke,
"My match?" nikola questioned, clearly confused,
"Your one true love!" I told her.
"Oh, nobody!" she said,
"To be fair, all of the boys are freaks in our year!" laura said,
"Well apart from Harvey!" I said,
"And fred!" jess said,
"And Thomas!" frankie said. We all laughed. "Hey should we play truth or dare?!" she suggested,
"Omg yes I love truth or dare!!!!" jess said very enthusiasticly,
"Im in for it!" gemma agreed. The games began.
Truth or Dare
Frankie went first, laura asked frankie, "will you marry Thomas?",
frankie hesitantly replied, "hm, maybe?! if hes lucky!" this made us 'LOL'. Laura went next,
"Have you and jordan ever done it!" Emily asked eargerly, this was emilys nature, just ask it, who cares, she never thinks before she speaks but this is whay makes her so funny and lovely!
"Hahaha, uhmmm, no!" Laura replied. Nikola went next.
"If you had to go out with anyone in our year, who would it be?" gemma asked,
"Honestly...no one!",
"But if you HAD to choose somebody!?",
"Fine uhm, Josh?!" Nikola finally replied. We all looked at her in amazement. I to be honest, have always thought they fit together like bubble and squeak and maybe they do?!
"Ooooo laa la!" I joked causing Nikola to give me the evils but then laughing. As we laughed i suddenly hurt a massive bang, "Did anyone else here that?!" we all sat there in silence, frozen in fear.
"Y-y-yea..." everyone replied in a whimpering whisper,
"It was probably the wind" emily said trying to make it a lot less scary. But in reality, we were all frightened, unable to move, unable to speak.
"Should we go see what it was?" Gemma asked,
"Be my guest!" I replied. It was scary, so scary. I dont want to know what is lurking in the shadows! 'Bang' we heard the noise again. We decided it would be best to go and see what is happening before something seriously scary happens. We all stood up and discussed our plan.
The Plan
We decided we would walk in pairs into the kitchen where the noise was coming from. From there, if we still couldnt see what was making the strange noises then we would travel further into the kitchen, look around anf if no one was in their, return to our room. But if someone was in there we would immediately return to our room, lock the door and call 999.
We gathered our pairs. Laura and me, jess and nikola, lisa and gemma and megan. Tiptoed through the corridors and outside the kitchen door. We froze, nothing could be heard or seen. We traveled into the kitchen, looked left, then right, nothing, no-body. What could have been making the noises then? We all walked back to the room and got comfy again. We decided to listen to some music and talk about whatever we wished to talk about.
