"KAITLYNNNNN!!!!"
I turn around to see who just yelled my name, and see my best friend Blake running towards me.
"What?! Is everything okay, what's wrong? Is it Lauren? What did she say?"
Lauren is the most popular girl in our school (well as popular you can be in 10th grade.) I kinda feel bad for Blake, I mean he's my best friend and all, but there's no way she'd ever notice him. Not that Blake's ugly I mean, his hair is nice, and his glasses actually look cute on him, and it's not like he's all scrawny, and WAIT! Why am I thinking about this? Blake is my best friend, nothing more, and nothing less.
"Kaitlyn!?!?!?!? I've been calling your name for the last minute, are you okay?" Blake asked standing in front of me while his face looks at me in concern.
"Uhhh...oh...um no I'm fine just spaced out but what is it?" I asked a smile on my face.
"Well first of all, It's not Lauren don't worry, I've accepted the fact that she'll never like me," Blake says frowning but pushes it aside in a flash to give me one of his award winning smiles, "but I just wanted to wish you goodbye before you go, I don't know how I'm going to survive without you for 3 months."
"What are you talking about? Where am I going?" I asked confused.
Blake face plants himself and looks at me annoyed, "You forgot didn't you? Remember, your aunt is coming over tomorrow to pick you up."
"No I totally remembered, I just didn't know that, that's what you were talking about....ummm would you remind me why exactly she's picking me up again?'
"Ughhh. What would you do without me?" Blake asks me, but before I have a chance to answer he starts talking again. "Anyways, she's taking you to New York for the summer, since your parents are going on that cruise."
"Oh Shit!" I curse out loud and catch the attention of a few people. I totally forgot, I take off running to my house, forgetting that Blake was with me.
"Kaitlyn!" Blake calls and runs after me.
I get to my house and open the door. I run up the stairs and throw open my door. I go to my closet and grab 3 suitcases and throw start going through my clothes.
Blake appears at my door panting, "Wow you run really fast, but that's not the point. First of all ummm your language back there? There were little kids around who probably learned a new word"
"Sorry I just-"
"Totally forgot about tomorrow? Yeah I kinda figured considering that you're throwing clothes into the suitcase like that's your job." Blake says grinning at the fact that I probably look like an idiot rushing around the room.
"Yeah yeah yeah, any chance you remember what time she's coming too?" I asked hoping that it wouldn't be until later in the day. That way I wouldn't have to rush, and I could put it off for just a little while longer.
"Yeah she said it would be sometime after lunch, in between 3-5." Blake says plopping down on my bed. He grabs a magazine off my night stand and starts flipping through it, "Do you girls actually read this stuff? I mean who cares about 'how to use your makeup to compliment our hair'" He says in a high pitched girly voice.
"Ok....One, I don't talk like that. Two, how do you know all of this stuff, I don't remember my mom or aunt mentioning any of this."
"That's because once she told you, she called me afterwards to remind you because she knew that you were going to forget....which was correct." He explains to me.
"Great, nice to know that my aunt doesn't think that I have the ability to remember something." I mumble jokingly.
Blake laughs at this and starts talking again, "Anyway I got to go, but I'll come back over tomorrow to make sure that you packed and to say goodbye, until then, my lady." He says getting down on one knee and kissing my hand.
"Om my lord, your so dramatic!" I say as I walk him downstairs and literally KICK him out of my house.
He walks to his house, which is literally right across the street from mine and I close the door.
I lean against the back of the door and sigh, how am I going to live without my best friend for the next 3 months.
