Amélie Montez was a girl who could sing.
No, that's not right.
Amélie Montez was a girl who REALLY could sing.
Although it may sound like an over-exaggeration, the very sound of her voice could bring a person to tears. Her voice had that rare beautiful quality that so few others' had. It could be called a gift, however many were envious of this.
It made her a target for abuse, a target for jealous bullies.
There was one particular group of people who could leave the poor girl in tears, throwing spiteful insults at her left right and centre, their taunts and remarks carving into her like a knife, slowly lowering her self esteem.
But that was not the worst of it.
For Amélie, her talent was the death of her.
