"John Laurens I presume?"

Thomas kicked off from the wall, wearing a oddly charming smile. "I dont think we have had a proper introduction." He felt almost stupid, why the hell was he trying to talk to him? Why did he get those weird fluttery feelings in his stomach and chest? Despite nervousness he was smooth as he ever was, Thomas never openly admitted he was attracted to men. In all honesty most knew he was a  bit of a womanizer. Laurens looked at Jefferson oh god he thought to himself as he listened to the charming male speak "Yeah, you must be Thomas Jefferson? I've heard quite a bit about you.." he said, muttering the last part a bit. John on the other hand was rather openly gay. He took pride in who he was and what he stood for. He went to many LGBT+ and BLM marches and whatnot. Thomas shoves his hands into his hoodie pockets. "Hear a lot about me then? I suppose you would, being Hamilton's friend and all. Its probably all his sorry as-" he stops himself and takes a breath. "Sorry, its uh. Kind of hard to break a habit." He apologies, insulting his best friend probably wasn't the best bet. "Look John, if I can call you that. Sorry if I seem a bit blunt but uh, you caught my attention. You look like a smart guy,-" hanging out with Hamilton he must be he added that last part in his head. "I was kind of hoping maybe we could hang out some time." God he was so freaking Awkward, why the hell was he blabbering like this? Laurens raised an eyebrow doubtfully as he looked at Thomas "You want to hang out with me because I...look smart?" He asked, mainly just messing with him now because of how awkward he was acting, it was quite amusing to him. Thomas swallowed awkwardly, why the fuck did he feel this way? He was never this way around people, Jefferson get your head in the game. His arms crossed over his chest "Or, you know I could totally just ignore you and continue being a intolerable asshole to Alexander. Which I really dont mind doing." Laurens rolled his eyes and laughed "Alright, I was just messing with you." He teased, then softly bit the inside of his cheek, hesitating slightly "I don't know how Alexander will feel about this," He muttered mostly to himself as he glanced down, then back at Jefferson "But I guess it'd be nice to hang out some time." He said with a shrug. Thomas seems to brighten. "Fuck Alexander, you are your own person aren't you?" It may have sounded a bit harsh but it was truth. He was still a little shocked, Laurens actually agreed to hang out with him. Why was he so excited about it? "There's a uh, Party a friend of mines throwing tonight. If that's too much maybe we can go to a coffee shop nearby for awhile?" He offers, tone ecstatic. Laurens blushed lightly at the sight of Thomas being that happy about it. Laurens shrugged at the offer "Either one is fine, I was actually going to get some coffee now though." He said as he glanced at the time "You're welcome to join me you'd like?" He asked, looking at him with a soft smile. "I'd love to." Thomas replied Eagerly. "Then maybe after we can stop by the party, I'm pretty sure one of your friends Lafayette, will be there." He said in case Laurens was nervous about it. "Sounds fine to me." Laurens nodded with a smile as he began walking beside Thomas to the coffee shop. "Its the shop near the corner right? A block away?" Thomas questions. Laurens nodded "Yep, do you go there often?" He asked, just hoping to keep the conversation going. He seemed very chill and calm, though honestly he was super nervous. Thomas gave a lame shrug. "Not really. Me and James go there sometimes when he needs to study every other month. Coffee shops aren't my, kind of thing. They remind me of- stuff I'd rather forget." He admitted. "Still, its not like I have anything against them or anything. "My mom and dad met in a coffee shop, it was oddly mainstream to be honest." He enjoyed just walking with Laurens and talking. Laurens raised an eyebrow slightly as he listened to Thomas talk and chuckled a bit at what he said, "That's interesting." He said kindly as he walked with him "So, um, what do you like to do?" He asked and bit his lip, trying not to laugh at himself for sounding so awkward. At least he got this far. "Women-" Thomas stops and grins sheepishly. "Sorry inside joke among friends." He shook his head and chuckled, he quickly continued before he made more of a fool of himself. "Really, I dont do much. Party with friends, study. I'll occasionally stop by an art gallery, for, personal reasons." He glanced over at John. "What about you?" Laurens listened to him as they walked, becoming slightly more curious every time he would say something, then refuse to explain it. "I don't do much either. I'm usually out with Alex and the others, doing something stupid unless Aaron is there to stop us." He said, thinking about it now "Wow, I just made myself sound extremely boring." He muttered. Thomas overhears it and laughs lightly. "Nah, your friendship with Alexander seems fun. Like you all trust each other. That's a good thing to have." He trailed off for a quiet moment. "Feels like I only have one friend I can trust." He coughed and shook his head. "Anyways,-" they arrive at the shop and opens the door for John. Laurens blushed lightly at what Jefferson was saying. He felt like he completely had him wrong, he was so...nice. nothing like how Alexander said he was. Laurens smiled softly "Thank you." He said as he walked in.  Thomas glances around and straightens his shoulders proudly. He follows after John but let's the door shut in Samuel Seaburys face. "So. Where do you normally sit?" Thomas asks, glancing around the neat little Cafe. "Over there." Laurens said as he gestured to the comfy seats by the window, it had a really nice veiw of the outside...and if you sat at a certain angle, you'd get a good view of the hot guys working out outside in the summer...but that's something he wasn't going to bring up to someone he doesn't know that well. "So, what shall I order you? I'll pay for it." He offered, smiling. Then glaring at James Reynolds who just happened to be there with his fiancé Maria, they were engaged.. Judging by the Look James gave him and Laurens he obviously was thinking of something devious. Laurens blushed lightly "Oh, um, you don't have to, I've got my own money..." he said, he didn't like making people waste their money on him, it made him kinda feel like a burden. Thomas holds back from saying something rude, his family was loaded so naturally he had quite a lot of money he didn't mind helping out. "Well, I mean I probably have the most money to spend. Let me pay, you dont want to have college Debt to come back and bite you in the ass." He insisted. It was true, the college would give you money but you would have to pay it Back, Thomas didnt need it but knew a lot of people did.
Laurens honestly wasn't rich at all, but he didn't like people paying for him. Sighing, he nodded "Alright, Alright." He said, then hummed softly as he glanced at the menu, then told him what he wanted
