<Annie>
One summer morning in mid-June, my mother and I were walking from the neighbourhood shops; we had to get some chocolate and ice cream for mums cooking when the impossible happened. Mum, always said I was extraordinary but I found out, how extraordinary I really was; the day I found out about my powers, one being able to control time, it happened when someone tried to steal her purse. We were walking slowly home from the shops when someone came up to us.
"Give me your purse, Lady," said the man suddenly
"No, Get Lost," said Mum. Mum had always been a fighter even when dad had been around; my dad left on friendly terms with mum and has always kept in touch.
"You heard the lady, mate," said an officer that had happened to be across the road, which had come over to help.
"Stay out of this officer," said the man
"No," said the officer
"Just give me your purse," said the man "NOW"
"I do not think so," said Mum firmly
"Fine, I am warning you," he said "Give me your purse and you will not get hurt"
"No" continued Mum
"Fine," said the man and went to the back of his pants and got a gun and pointed it at me "NOW GIVE ME THE PURSE OR THE KID DIES"
"Fine, mate," said Mum nervously "just do not hurt my daughter"
However the officer suddenly stood in front of the gun and me, nervous of his situation the man shot the gun, it all happened so unexpectedly, the officer was braced for the bullet that was coming toward him, mum was scared and I was frightened, I closed my eyes and scream and put my hands up suddenly. Next minute I heard a calm voice in my ear, it was the officer saying my name.
"Miss Preston," he said softly, "Miss Preston, are you alright?"
While we are on the subject, that is my name, Miss Andromeda Preston, I am fifteen years old and I have long blonde hair, which I have tied in a half-ponytail today and blue eyes. I opened my eyes and looked straight into the composed yet passionate blue eyes of the young officer but he was not bewildered about what had happened as I was, in fact, he was smiling at me.
"I am fine," I finally said
"Good," said the officer "my name is Officer Edward Bates"
"Nice to meet you, Officer Bates," I said
"Please, call me Eddie," he said "Miss Preston"
"Alright," I said "and it is Annie, by the way"
"Alright, Annie," said Eddie smiling "nice to meet you"
"Thank for helping me out, Officer Bates," said Mum "my name is Abigail, by the way"
"It is the least I can do, Abigail," he said, still smiling at me then he added, "I guess I owe you one"
"Why?" I asked puzzled
"Because you saved my life, Annie," said Eddie
"How did I do that?" I said
"You do not know?" said Eddie, then when I shook my head, he added, "You stopped the bullet from hitting me with your powers by slowing it down, in which it afterwards dropped to the floor,"
"What?" I said gobsmacked, "are you sure?"
"I am sure," he said smiling
"By the way, what powers, anyway?" I said still unsure what he was talking about
