The Marigolds
Individual people chosen by pure Marigolds that come from the sky. The sky is only clear after the New Master is chosen, but when the Society is in need of a new Master the sky will begin to grow dark. The temperature is always warm when the master is going through the trials. It begins to rain once he reaches the end of his trials and continues to rain until it's time for the Golden Marigold to appear. It'll storm for days and days until the master has obtained the Golden Marigold and reaches the Society far above the clouds. A place like heaven, however here when people die they stay dead. There is no heaven, only the society that the chosen will go to once the time comes. The controlled Society is where the normal humans and other creatures live.
A world where nothing really changes. All that can be changed with one small mistake. One evil mistake. Here in this world no one ever lies. No one is allowed to steal, otherwise they'll be executed in front of the whole ratio of that village. No one ever sees when the person is chosen by the Golden Marigold so no one knows what it looks like...until he is chosen. Her brother.
Revelta a young girl will soon witness what it looks like for someone to be chosen by the Golden Marigold.
"Do you remember?" I slowly nodded; the pain was spreading throughout my body as well as the poison. "I remember l-like it was yesterday." He hugged me. Although I was sentenced to be alone forever he was the one who felt the most pain. "I never knew space could be so empty...I never knew it would be this hard to end everything the right way." I smiled up at him. "I'll make sure to make it right...I'll create a new place. A new planet." I could feel him getting lighter. "W-what should I call it?" I asked smiling tears falling down my face. "Let's call it planet Earth. Let's make a better galaxy too." He squeezed my hand as I stood up. He stood up too. "I'll miss you, Revelta." I couldn't hold it back anymore. I hugged him sobbing. "I don't want you to disappear. Please don't go!" He wrapped his arms around me trying to sooth the pain in my chest but nothing could heal it. "It'll be alright. I'll always be here." I looked at him. He was becoming some type of glowing dot...there were many of them. "These are what we can call stars." I nodded. He was meant to become the stars that would help me reverse the disaster and start over. "We won't see each other...ever again." He nodded. "I know but it'll be ok because if it wasn't for your brother we would all still be like we were."
"I remember like it was yesterday."
"Eldwin! The tests are back. You are qualified to be apart of the trials of Mari!" I watch as my mother and father got up to congratulate my older brother. He smiles at me and I return the smile. "Isn't this great Revelta?" I nodded tears building up in my eyes. "Darling what's wrong?" My mother asked. I didn't want to tell her but I didn't have a choice. We can't lie. "I feel as if after Eldwin is gone something terrible is going to happen." My mother laughed and my father did too but my brother just looked at me and I knew he felt it too. Something was going to happen.
"Don't be silly darling, it's just a feeling, and nothing is going to happen. I told you not to stay up watching those programs on TV."
Me and my Brother's watches went off and we quickly shut them off. "Time for school. Have a nice day you two." I nodded and followed after Eldwin. After we were outside and a great distance away from the house he spoke to me. "You feel it too?" I nodded but did my best not to cry.
"I don't know what it is but I know I don't want to leave everyone like this. I feel like I know that my destiny is to become a Master, and leave all the ones I love behind in chaos. I had a dream last night where-" He was cut off by someone calling his name. It was his friend Archael. "Hey I heard the fortunes are being done today, is your group going?" Group means family but all of the kids usually say group.
"Oh yeah mother did say we were going right after school." "Great! Then I'll see you there after school...wanna race?" My brother laughed. "You want to lose like last time?" "Whatever let's go!" My brother turned to nod at me then darted off.
I continued to walk, I wouldn't be late so I didn't need to run. I thought about what my brother was going to say. He would probably never get to finish either, the trials were starting tomorrow. I looked down at the tiny Marigolds growing in some of the yards. Marigolds were the most popular flower in the world since they had the wisdom to create a Society in the sky and give individual people unknown power to keep balance in the world. I liked Marigolds but my favorite flower was the Black Rose.
I felt a small shove in the middle of my thoughts and I turned around to see Vincent. I smiled and gave him a small wave. "Still thinking about your crazy theories Via?" Vincent was my best friend. Maybe more than that, he always called me Via complaining that my name was too long. He was very passionate and understanding, also very easy to talk too but I didn't need him worrying about these strange thoughts. "I suppose but I was thinking about you too." I said grinning. He placed his arm around my shoulder laughing like a maniac.
"I know I'm hot butcha' don't have to be so bold about it Via, otherwise I might think you like me." He said smirking like a fool. I spun around getting his arm from around me and ran, my skirt swaying as I did so. "Maybe I do. If you can catch me then I'll admit it." I began running towards the school looking behind me. He stood there for a moment as if processing what I said and then raced towards me. I laughed running as fast as I could but I wasn't all that athletic...maybe pretty fast though.
I made it three inches past the cherry blossom tree before I felt myself picked up and spun around. I laughed again. He put me down and I turned to him. "Alright a deal is a deal." He leaned against the tree and then sat down patting a spot next to him. I took that spot and watched the white clouds move across the sky. "I've always liked you Vincent. You've always been here for me, even when I didn't need you." He pulled me onto his shoulder and I blushed. "I think I've wanted to hear you say that for a long time. Or maybe I wanted to tell you but I couldn't because I thought you would turn me away." I moved away a bit to look at him.
He was blushing but he was looking me right in the eyes. Those were his honest feelings. We had to be fully honest according to the rules anyway. His violet eyes looking directly into my red ones. His purple hair slightly moving with the wind as the trees leaves rustled behind us. "Vincent I want a relationship with you. I don't want one with anyone else. I've wanted to tell you for a long time but I thought you wouldn't feel the same. And I want you to know I would never have turned you away." He took me by my hands and pressed our foreheads together. "Then we have a relation."
