Axel woke up and looked around the room. As if he hadn't already done so last night. He felt a very sharp pain in his stomach area and looked down at the cut across it.

Joy looked over, "Are you feeling any better?" She said, looking at his stomach as well. "Not really. At least the bleeding stopped. Right?" He said, trying his best to lift up his head to examine the whole cut.

"Yeah, it looks better. But how do you feel? like, emotionally. Is everything okay?"

"Honestly, I just want to be home with my family. Probably sitting on the couch, watching tv together. But who knows. They probably don't even care that I'm gone." He said quietly.

"Look. Good things happen. For all we know, they could be working their asses off looking for you right now. And trust me, only a few kids here have escaped and I might not but, I hope with all my heart that you do." She gave a small smile.

"But if I do escape, I want to make sure that you come with me. Or else I'd have no reason to go."

"I have many things to say that would give you a good reason to leave without me." She slightly giggled "Now, don't make me list those reasons because you definitely know what they are."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know." He said, smiling. "It still would make me really happy if I end up making it out of here with you. That is, if we ever make it out." He quickly turned his smile into a frown.

"Hey! Don't give up so easily. Okay? Just, instead of talking about all that stuff.. Let's talk about the highlights of our life instead. All of our happy moments." She insisted.

They could talk about things like this all day and all night. Especially when it stuff like this, their happiest moments. Except for when the men cane in and hurt them. Sometimes, it would involve weapons like knives of all sizes, sissors, wrenches, chains and so much more. They would sometimes even let them out of their chains to beat them up themselves. They wouldn't struggle to fight back or run since they were so weak. Mostly since they barley even feed them. But, it was just enough to keep them alive.

"Hey, Joy?" He hesitated.

"Yeah, Axel?" She said in response

He gulped "I've been only telling you about my happiest memory's. What's one of yours?"

Joy sighed "It was probably when I was younger. Like, very young. Maybe around six or seven years old. My family was a very happy family, we had everything we could have ever wanted. I mean, we weren't rich or anything, but we were all happy. By the time I was eight my thirteen year old sister went missing. My biggest guess is that she ended up here. But then again, I dissappeared when I was seventeen. That's a very large gap in-between the time she went missing versus the time I went missing."

"Joy. I'm so, so sorry about that. And I don't want to sound rude or anything, but I thought we agreed to stop talking about things like that.."

"Okay, yeah. I guess your right. Sorry about that."

There was a brief silence in the room for a few minutes until the door slammed open. There was a new man who barged in this time. He seemed to be smaller and weaker compared to the last man.

"Who are you?" Axel questioned

"Shut the fuck up." The other man said loudly. The only thing that seemed strong in him was his tone of voice.

"Geesh. Rude much?" Axel teased him with his temper.

The other man walked over and punched him in the face, leaving a giant bruise on his cheek.

"Shut your damn mouth." He said as he walked over to Joy and gave her food.

The man left the room, slamming the door behind him. Not giving him anything to eat. "Axel.. You should know better than doing that." She said with a disappointed tone.

"I'd rather die than stay here. Also, I thought he was going to hurt you. "He said sadly "I know It's only the second day but I can't manage going through that kind of pain again. And I can't stand to see one of them hurt us again."

"I understand. I did something similar to that once." She looked at his bruise.

"Wait, really?" He said, drawing his attention to his bruise as well.

"Well, I've been here for two years. I've tried many things. Once, they even came into here to hurt me and I said something along the lines of "Why don't you just kill me already?" And turns out that they didn't even hurt me. They force fed me instead. They want us alive, just to torture us. But, I feel like there's a reason to stay alive. Someone will probably escape, reach the police and save us all. Just, please don't die." She whispered

"Okay. I promise, I won't try to die. But I'm not gonna promise you that I'm going to refrain from doing stupid stuff." He laughed

"Yeah, I know."
