There was always something different about Damon Salvatore, and it wasn't that he was a vampire. No, it was something else entirely, when you were around him, you just felt more alive than you ever had in your entire life.
You had fallen for him the moment you met him, his raven dark hair, his bright blue eyes, that signature smirk, just everything about him. Of course, it wasn't like he had ever given you a second glance, what with Elena and all. So, you decided that it was best to just ignore your feelings as best as you could, no matter how hard it was.
Sure, there were times when the two of you would tease one another, but you tried not to look too far into it.
You pulled your car into the long driveway of the Salvatore Boarding House and took a deep breath before getting out, locking the door and walking up the gravel driveway to the front door. You pushed open the door and entered the house like you usually did.
"Stefan? Damon?" you called out as you closed the door, one of them was usually in the living room and it was odd to find it empty.
"Y/N? I'm in the kitchen," Damon called back.
You sighed out and walked to the kitchen, chuckling a little when you found Damon stood at the hob making his famous pancakes.
"Pancakes?" he offered, flashing you that signature smirk as you sat down at the table.
"Sure, you gonna decorate them with little smiley faces and fangs?" you teased.
He chuckled at you, "You know me too well, Y/N," he said with that grin again.
"Nah, you're just getting predictable, Salvatore," you teased, earning yourself a playful glare from him as he set a plate of pancakes down in front of you, sitting down opposite you with his own pancakes.
"So, what's with the surprise visit?" Damon asked curiously.
"What? Can't I just come by and see my favorite Salvatore?" you asked. "Speaking of Stefan, where is he?" you joked, eating a bite of your pancake and smirking at him.
"Hardy har, you're hilarious, Y/N. I know I'm your favorite."
"Looks like you caught me," you said playfully. "So, what does Damon Salvatore have planned for today?" you asked.
"I was gonna go to The Grill and have a drink later if you'd like to join me?" he offered.
"Sounds good to me."
The two of you ate the pancakes and then relaxed on the couches and read for a couple of hours before getting into Damon's Camaro so you could head to The Grill, it was always fun drinking with Damon, it was one of the things the two of you shared, it was one of the only times you got to spend alone with him.
