An angel shines bright
The darkness that covers all
A mistake, a tool
Cain looked into the court, the same room Rotham's word was the absolute power. He saw a sight that would have made most men cringe and vomit. Cain, on the other hand, wasn't fazed. He saw a dozen men, dead. Three were beheaded, some were missing limbs. One had its intestines falling out of its stomach. In the center of everything was what he wanted.
There was a man, standing in a puddle of blood, holding the King up by the hair. The man had long black hair that had fell halfway down his back. He was shirtless, and wore black leggings. He was soaked in blood, discoloring his hair, caking his skin. The man raised his sword over the king, and brought it down, the sword penetrating the kings body. After a few moments, he dropped the body, and sheathed his blade. "Cain?"
"Who are you, warrior?" Cain asked, making his way towards the man.
"My name is Tenshi."
Cain walked past Tenshi, stepping on the bodies. He stepped up and continued walking to the throne. He turned, and slowly sat, leaning on his arm. "Well, Tenshi. I'm impressed by your handiwork." He gestured to the corpses. "I have never seen one man take out twelve soldiers, especially not the elite soldiers. The royal guards are nothing to sneeze at."
"They are not strong. Not anymore. The armies of this country have grown weak." Tenshi said, looking behind him as another man walked through the door. Why can I not look at Cain's face? It feels as if the harder I try to see him, the farther down I'm forcing myself to look...
Cain stood, beaming. "I'm not the only one who thinks this, it seems." He walked over to Tenshi. "I have use for a man of your skill."
"I will not be in servitude to a man who proclaims himself king. I am not a warrior. I have no desire to fight."
"Oh, but look at the smile on your face. You are happy to kill. You have missed it. You hate refraining from killing. You love watching the lifeless corpses fall from your blade." Cain put his hand on Tenshi's shoulder. "You don't have to pretend any further. Be a sadist. I, for one, admire that."
Tenshi scowled. "I don't think this is the appropriate time for this. Get the town under control, and let me clean myself. Clean the castle, make it more appropriate for an audience."
"I will be waging war on the Arainites. And to do that, I'm sending scouts. I would like you to be one of the scouts I send to Arainat. Will you do it?"
"I will be back in one weeks' time." Tenshi turned and began to stroll towards the exit.
"Tell me one thing, Tenshi. What is your Magic?"
Tenshi stopped in front of the door. "Magic? I was not blessed with Magic." He left.
Cain smiled, and he began to cackle. "Oh, how marvelous! A man like that exists! I love this, I love this!" He shouted, his voice cracking from the excitement.
"So, you're Cain?" A man said from behind Cain and Logan.
Cain looked up to a spot above the doorway. "Ah, a Tsendaren? Is that what I hear?"
"I am the Tsendaren emissary. Jiao Long, at your service."
Cain turned to look at the Tsendaren. "How curious." Sure enough, he was wearing a crimson cloak, the mark of a Tsendaren. "You could have stopped him."
